Feels Impossible

The school Library Learning Commons is central to leadership and empowerment of all learners, students and teachers, who actively participate in, and contribute to, their learning communities.

..in short.. it's hard to engage all educators and inspire them to participate and shift their traditional teaching practices. It is also not entirely feasible, there is 1 library with 1 (part time) librarian. This point puts a lot of pressure all students and educators having equal access to the supports a library offers..but regardless of what is available, time and space have created the biggest barrier.

Create flexible and adaptable physical spaces that support different learning activities.

Space and money prevent this from being higher on the list

Provide opportunities for students to develop reading and literacy skills.

Time as well as collaboration with teachers required. can be difficult

Provide professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their instructional practices

Would like to start having lunch n learns and collaborative space time for teachers to discuss freely, and reignite and excitement for teaching that seems to have been dimmed.

Could be happening

Engage learners in real-world tasks and diverse strategies

Providing learners with new and engaging learning opportunities is the focus moving forward. Using student interest (robotics and media arts) our resources have shifted to provide new equipment to excite students about the learning they don't even realize they're doing!
