“A Mind Map is a powerful graphic technique which provides a universal key to unlock the potential of the brain. It harnesses the full range of cortical skills – word, image, number, logic, rhythm, colour and spatial awareness – in a single, uniquely powerful manner. In so doing, it gives you the freedom to roam the infinite expanses of your brain. The Mind Map can be applied to every aspect of life where improved learning and clearer thinking will enhance human performance.” Tony Buzan, creator of the term Mind Map.

In the beginning of the semester the teacher will create a mind map for the group on www.mindomo.com. The teacher can then outline the map with students and decide on an updating schedule. After the map is created, the teacher will share it with students by clicking on ‘share’ and including students’ e-mail addresses or by sharing a link via e-mail (remember to allow guests to modify the map). Students will work in small groups. Each group will be responsible for updating the map on the agreed schedule (weekly seems to be the best option as students will be responsible for updating it once a month or less, undermining any complaints about possible work overload). The map will always be available to any student who wishes to review or modify it, though, and the teacher will only work as a moderator.
