How?
There was a number of reasons why King Harolds army lost. The reasons were as followed. King Harold's army was tired after the long battle with Hardarda, he also had to march down from the North of England. Harold was impatient and did not give them time to rest. Harold's army was also spread out while fighting at Hastings. The main reason was William faking his death and making his men retreat causing Harold to come down from the highground. Once Harold was down level with William's army he revealed that he was still alive and then one of his troops impaled Harold eye with an arrow.

Why?
The two Kings were fighting over
the English throne.

Where?
Sussex Coast, England.

What?
Duke Wiliam landed in England weeks before the battle. The reason for this is that King Harold had to march his army all the way down from Noth England after fighting King Harold Hardrada. When Harold finally arrived, William was waiting for him. They fought and fought and eventually William's army killed Harold's which granted Duke William of Normandy, the throne.
