I interviewed Tariq Zyad who is the manager and the executive of Irbil bookstore branch. The World of Book Bookstore first came to Iraq in 1992 and it was established in Baghdad. However, the bad situation of the security after to 2003 led to open a bookstore on Irbil in 2008; it has been for three years around for its opening. Their mission statement and primary goals are to distribute and supply original books especially that are in English all over Iraq with very similar prices to the publishers’; also to print and publish Iraqi writers’ books. The company provides every kind of books, such as, books of Medicine, Engineering, Administration, Information Technology, dictionaries and so on.

As an executive summary, The World of Book Bookstore opened in Irbil since that original branch in Baghdad was in bad conditions because of the security situation after 2003. Pearson, McGraw-Hill, Wiley which are international book publishers provide our mother-source Kasha and The World of Book Bookstore gets book. Also, many other Arabic publishers like Dar Al- Wael and Al-Hamind are our suppliers. Kasha imports books from international and big publishers and it sends it to the Middle East. The World of Book Bookstore gets books by Lorries to Iraq in case the books were coming from Jordan and by airplane if the books were in London. Sometimes, when The World of Book Bookstore needs immediate supplies even if it was in Jordan they get it by airplane. The World of Book Bookstore supplies, public and private universities, libraries, and smaller bookstore in the bazaar. The World of Book Bookstore involved in many international fairs that took place in Irbil and Baghdad; besides, it involved in non-international fairs, such as, the one in Basra 35 day ago and Mosul. In this fairs The World of Book Bookstore mandatorily hire temporary employees that may reach to 25 -35 employees. Through this fairs customers have been attracted and increased.

Cihan University- Irbil that is a private University is supplied by The Book World Bookstore. Cihan University is considered as the top customer and in the first level as a buyer for The Book World Bookstore. Cihan University has different departments, such as, Enagineering, Law, English and Business &Management. All curriculums of these different departments have many kinds of books and topics. So, The Book World Bookstore provides them.

Many small bookstores are spread out and scattered in Irbil’s Bazaar. So, they are usually in need of different kinds of books. They are considered to be the in the second level as buyers for The Book World Bookstore.

According to the KRG Ministry of Education, every university should contain a decent and good library in order to be recognized as a university in the KRG Ministry of Education. Usually the university universities need to add some new books and catagories for their libraries. Furthermore, the new universities always got investigated and checked via committee of KRG Ministry of Education if they have a fine library that depends on types and amounts of books. So, The Book World Bookstore supplies them. For example, the library of UKH is supplied by The Book World Bookstore.

The Book World Bookstore can supply the governmental libraries via fairs. For example, the Irbil International Fairs for Books-2009 attracted the Police Academy-Irbil of the KRG to demand many kinds of books for their library. Also, through Irbil International Fairs for Books many other universities in other cities, such Mosul bought books for their university, such as, University of Hadba’.

Administration & Finance of Salah Al-ddin University also was supplied by The Book World Bookstore.

CRM that stands for Customer relationship management is commonly put into practice model for run a firm’s dealings with purchaser and sales prediction. He said, “Sure, we take care of our consumers and always look for new customers since they are our source to sustain this company and make profit.” He added, “We ask about the necessities of the bazaar, different consumers, from them directly through surveys that are done by company’s employees; so it is paper based CRM we can say. However, after you detailed explanation about CRM, I think it will be great if we could use the real technical CRM instead our paper based one since the non-paper based CRM looks great indicator of the bazaar’s ,customer’s, behavior.

Generally, Order fulfillment means the procedure starting from point of sales study to release of a product to the client. Order fulfillment is a term that is usually used to refer to the response to consumer demands.

First way for the Product Inquiry, is that the customer who are eager to buy any book from The Book World Bookstore is able to visit it and check what it has; the second way, is through checking its printed catalogue that contains the book that The Book World Bookstore has and it is offered freely for any customer.

The books’ prices are not written in our catalogue, yet the customer can ask for it either directly or through sending an email that should consists of the ISBNs that he/ she wants. Gladly, we offer him/her the prices, the amount and the period of shipment that is needed.

The customers are welcomed to specify what they want before they booking their order formally.

The customer can visit, send an e-mail, or make a phone call in order to books the Order that he/she wants.

The customer should confirm that they need what they have booked

In case the customer is new or is not located in Irbil The Book World Bookstore needs the customer to sign a bond for paying the money in a specific period of time. However, if the customer is in Irbil and he/she is an old customer who The Book World Bookstore knows no need for signing a bond; customers could just sign that they have received what they demanded.

The location and the date of the books will be agreed on from the both sides, the customer and the bookstore. The company looses its reputation if it could not do what it was agreed on.

packing and packaging is always done by the bookstore easily and flawlessly since it lets customers to be comfortable.

The bookstore has its own network with regards to the trustable drivers that transport books from Amman-Jordan to Irbil-Iraq.

If the customer demanded that the books should be delivered to her/him, the bookstore does that gladly.

The Bookstore pays for the delivering and settlement process, and it will charge a little bit for that from the customer.

If the customer didn’t received exactly the same copies that he/she wanted and if the books were damaged, it is very Okay to return it without any charge.

ERP stands for Enterprise resource planning software; It tries to incorporate every sector and works athwart a firm onto a PC system which serves all those different sectors’ especial requirements. Creating a solo software program that provides necessitates of employees in human resources, in finance and in the warehouse. Every sector consist its own PC system improved for the especial methods that the sectors work. However, ERP merges all of them into a solo software program that operates off a solo database. Thus, the different sectors simply be in touch and share information.The World of the Bookstore does not use ERP, but The World of the Bookstore are trying to implement that idea after they found its benefits as abovementioned. They put it in their Long Term plans.

SCM stands for Supply chain management; it is the way of finding the raw elements required to create a service or product and transporting it to consumers. Supply chain management has five main elements: plan, source, make, deliver, and return.The Book World Bookstore get supplied by ‘Al-Thakira’ bookstore that is in Jordan and the mother-source for is positioned convergence of Europe, Asia and Africa called 'Kasha'. Usually there is not any direct connection between The Book World Bookstore and Kasha, but it has a direct relation with the one in the Jordan. When The Book World Bookstore needs any book and on any amount they will ask from Jordan and Jordan usually supplies them and in case if there was not the books that are needed Kasha the mother-provider will deal with that and afford the needed books. Then, he Book World Bookstore supply the private universities and sell them to the bazaar in Iraq.
