Deforestation - Mind Map

Deforestation

This is a big international issue, because natural forests act as biodiversity reserves and they keep coal out of the atmosphere and oceans.

Causes: Human actvities

Felling and burning of trees for timber

Habilitation of land for agriculture

Cleaning of land for livestock grazing

Mining operations, mining of oil

Construction of dams

Expansion of cities and other types of development and expansion of the population

Effects

Lose biodiversity reserves

Spread coal to the atmosphere

Desertification and floods

The big problem is the wrong way to reach development, the eagerness for increase the economy of every country lead us to bad practices, that in some point can be faster, easier and cheaper but destruct the environment.

Environmental problems

Global warming:is the result of human activities like greenhouse gas emission, it causes high temperatures producing the melting of polar ice caps and rising of oceans.

Pollution: is produced by industries and motor vehicles mainly, air pollution contains gases and toxins due to the combustion of fuels.

Deforestation: forests are being destroyed mostly in the tropics, often to make room for cattle raising, palm oil plantations, soy plantations and other agricultural monocultures.
