Diffusion

Diffusion is the mixing of molecules/ions, from thermal activity until an equilibrium is reached,e.g the dispersion of a vapor in air.

The result of diffusion is a gradual mixing of material

When diffusion occurs, the concentration level decreases

Diffusion is what is called a passive process-which means no energy is needed.

How much diffusion occurs given at any one time depends on two factors

1. The concentration level

2. How big the space in which diffusion occurs is.

An example of diffusion in Biology is transport for necessary materials such as amino acids within cells.
