Claim:Yes mining is essential to all modern life
because the minerals we mine are used for almost
everything
Evidence:
1-The gold we mine is used to make cell phones
as connectors, switches and relay contacts(Communication)
2-Different metals we mine are formed to make cars, buildings, tools, computers, etc.....
3-Materials we mine are formed at different levels and made with different materials and amounts of pressure, We mine the materials for the use and the strength we need it for.
Connection:
Construction connects to mining in many different ways. For example, The tools they use are made from materials that were mined. The steel or screws they use were made from mined materials. So that shows that without mining, most the things we use would not be here anymore.

How has the Earth
Changed over Time?
Claim: Convection moves lava which then move the tectonic plates making the earth and the plate formations change over years.
Evidence:
1-Convection is always moving lava which then moves the plates into different positions.
2-The evidence we have of the Earth changing would be Pangea and all the other land masses.
3-We know how the earth has changed by looking at coal/glacier deposits, looking at fossils, and mapping past positions of continents.
Connection:
The plate cycle connects to the life cycle. The plates are always moving due to convection and can never be seen. Just like how the life cycle is always happening and is rarely ever noticed to a normal human. New life is always being created and old life is dieing and being buried or decomposed.

How do Humans affect
Earth’s Systems?
Claim: Humans Interact with the Earth using
Amplifying and Stabilizing Feedback.
Evidence:
1-Amplifying Feedback-Change to a system that has an amplifying effect.
Stabalizing Feedback-Change that causes a system to try to return to its normal state.
2-Humans can both fix and ruin the four spheres, For example polution can ruin the spheres and just by picking up your trash will help.
3-The rise in greenhouse gasses will melt the glaciers faster making sea levels rise farther and farther up.
Connection:
Humans affect on earths systems connects to the story about the wolves. The humans affect the systems through amplifying and stabalizing feedback. This is just like the wolves, When they werent in the park the population of there prey sky rocketed. The vegetation was getting eaten. Then using stabalizing feedback wolve were re introduced making the system return back to normal.

What is the Earth’s
Place in the Universe?
Claim:
The Earth's Place in the Universe is to be the only Planets so far to Support all Life.
Evidence:
1- Waverly, Iowa, USA North America, Earth, Solar System, Global Cluster, Milky Way, Local Group, Virgo Cluster.
2-The Earth orbits just perfectly so we have all four of our seasons and dont get to close to the sun that we burn up.
3-The Big Bang helped with creating a lot through singularity to really rapid expantion. Helped create the earth and life.
Connection:
The earths place in the universe connects to a refrigerator in a way. Earths place in the universe is to be the only planet so far to support life. That connects to a refrigerator because a refrigerator supports the food you put in it. Without the earth we wouldnt have any life. Without using a refrigerator your food would go bad and spoil.
