ATOMIC BOMBING

Hiroshima and Nagasaki (1945)

WHEN?

For sure the person who took the photo was trying to let it clear everything that have just happened. To mi view, he was showing all the 'effort' they made to build the bomb, the outcoming and also all the consequences.

WHAT WAS THE PHOTOGRAPHER TRYING TO SAY?

This photo was taken by the US army in the following seconds after the launching of the 'Little Boy' -name of the firts atomic bomb on Hiroshima- and shows the impact of the bomb.

WHO TOOK IT? WHEN? WHERE?

Political. It's very clear that the main problem was because of the War.
Intelligence. Doing the bombs, processing, and launching was a really big plan.
Social. All the problems and the circumstances finished in an unfair outcoming for those innocent people: millions of them became death in seconds.

WHAT IDEAS/THEMES ARE DEALT WITH IN THE PHOTO?

US was launching the atomic bomb to Japan, due to te Second World War and, after all, it meant the end of the conflict.

NAME

I picked up this photo, because I have read many things about it, I really love it and I consider it is a great topic to talk of. Its history, its world-large impact, all the points that involves the launching, the chemical process that take place inside those kinds of devices and the political moment that was living the US during the Second World War.

WHY THIS PHOTO?

1. Still amazed.

2. Interesting topic

3. Many things to talk about.

4. Strong points of view and a big debate.

The first time I notice about that, I was shocked. I can't believe such an event! Then, I start reading and learning about that and I realize it was a huge historical moment in the human history. Its really hard seeing all the devastated people, countries, families... It's a shame for all the inocent people that was it the middle of the War. I'm still feeling amazed for the people that suffer it... is just overwhelming.
