Addictive Drugs
When you start taking drugs
overtime you can start 
becoming addicted to it. 
It is something that that starts
to relive stress.
How Drugs Affect
the Brain
Many drugs affect the brain
such as cocaine and marijuana,
but the most common drug that
is used by teens is marijuana. 
As the teenage brain is still
developing, smoking marijuana
can cause memory loss, losing
brain cells, interferes with brain
development and so on.

There are many reasons
behind why people use & 
abuse drugs such as :
- family problems
- relives stress
- peer pressure
- wanting to fit in or 
look cool
- child abuse
Sexuality
Consent
Consent is something that is very
important no matter how long you
and your significant other have 
been together or how close you
are with them, both have to agree
upon a decision that is best and 
comfortable. Without consent
it is considered to be sexual assault 
in which is why it is very important 
to make sure your partner says 
yes or no to whatever you are 
asking and respect the decision
they made until further notice.
Influences
There are many influences around
us in which make you do things such
as involving yourself in sexual 
activities because of them when you
do not want to. There is a lot of 
peer pressuring so you have to 
make sure when it comes to that 
you give a honest yes or no answer
to what your most comfortable with.
STI preventions
It important to stay clean and use protection before any sort of sexual intercourse such as :
- condoms 
- birth control 
- plan b
- dental damns
Communication
Communication is a very important part 
of a relationship. Communication allows 
you and your partner to talk about 
things you both dislike and like, 
communication is key when it comes
to knowing more about your parter and 
knowing the things they are ready for and 
not. Communication allows you and your
partner to gain knowledge about each other
before engaging in any sort of sexual activity
such as if any one of you has an STI in which
should be checked. By communicating with 
each other, it will allow you both to learn about
their previous sex life, in which then both of you
should get checked up for any sort of STI
Abstinence Benefits
Abstinence has many benefits such as not
worry about having an STI considering the 
fact you have never had sex or you do not
have to regret your decision later. Some
people cannot as it is against their religion.

Talk To An Adult
Talking to an adult is very
important as the adult is much
more mature to handle and 
help you with the situation.
Aware of Surroundings
It is very important to 
always being aware of 
your surroundings. Try 
to complete tasks during
the day as many people
are outside during that 
period of time, so that 
if something does happen
there would be many
people for you to call help
for. If walking at night,
make sure at least one
person is with you or 
you are in a place that
has more people 
surrounding you.
Conflict Resolution
A few of the many ways 
you can solve a problem 
is by collaborating, withdrawn 
in which is to avoid any violence 
of such sort and the one i personally 
prefer is isolation in which you
just isolate yourself out of the problem.

Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is when you 
you take a person without their
consent or trick them into getting
them transported from one area 
or country to another for forced 
sexual interactions or labour. It is
very important to know the warning
signs so that you can indicate if 
the person is trying to be friends or 
something else. Some of the signs
include :
- they try to gain your trust
- try to get to know your family
through which may seem like 
general questions
- no form of identification 
These warnings signs are very 
important to keep in the back of
your head as they may be able to
save your life.
Fit Theroy
Resting Heart Rate
Your resting heart is the amount of times
your heart beats per minute. Your resting 
heart rate determines how healthy and fit 
you are and can also determine things such 
as if you are dehydrated or are stressed out.
If your heart rate is between beats 50-70 per
you have a good heart rate indicating that 
you are fit and healthy, anything above 70 
indicates that you are not in the best shape.
Target Heart Rate
A target heart rate determines in
which rate an individual should
workout at specific to their age,
gender, fitness and so on. For 
example a 150 bpm for a female 
in her thirties to burn fat.

The FITT principle enables you to make 
a solid exercise schedule that is most 
healthy and effective for you to 
achieve your fitness goal.
Body Weight Training
Body weight training allows people to spend less time working out when gain strength in which includes workouts such as squats, lunges and crunches. You become more controlled of your own routine and become more flexible and balanced.
Physical Exercise Essential to Mental Health
Exercising regularly is very good for the body 
but it is known to have a positive impact on depression, 
anxiety, ADHD and so on. Not only is exercise 
effective when aiming to improve mental health but
it is also known to relieve your stress and helps you 
sleep better making exercising overall keep you in a 
good mood and keep you healthy and fit,
Sports
Soccer
Soccer is a very familiar sport to me
but I had learned many new ways to
combine two sports together such as
soccer baseball. Soccer baseball is 
overall a very fun sport. In soccer 
baseball I learned how to play regular
baseball, as in I got a better perspective 
of baseball helping me understand the 
sport overall.
Basketball
In basketball I learned many new
things as I do not play basketball 
often. In basketball I learned in 
certain postions you can gain three
points (three pointer) and in others 
you can earn two. I also learned 
new techniques to help me take 
shots that allowed me to get the ball
in the basket. I also learned how to
position myself when I do not have
the ball in which allows my teammates
to have more options when they do not
have anyone to pass to.
Volleyball
In the volleyball unit I was personally 
very excited for this unit as I really
wanted to learn more about volleyball.
Although I had already had a general
knowledge on what volleyball was 
about, I did not know about all the 
rules and how serve the ball correctly.
In the volleyball unit I was able to 
to learn the names of the different
positions such as the right front, right
side hitter and so on.
Badminton
In the badminton unit I learned many
different rules that I was not aware of
such as playing In singles in which is 
by yourself and doubles which is with 
a partner, or how the game ends after 
getting up to a certain amount of 
points (21). Badminton was more 
complicated then I actually thought it
was, for instance the outlines apply
different when you are playing doubles
or singles.
Flag Football
The flag football unit was also a unit I
personally enjoyed. In the flag football
unit the most part I was eager about
was on how to throw the football 
properly. Throughout the unit I started
to get better and better at throwing the
ball as I was taught how to position my 
body and how to swing my arm when
throwing the football. I also learned 
how to catch the football in which was 
making both hands into the shape of a 
diamond and that allowed me to catch 
the ball without it falling out of my hands.
Nutrition

In the new Canadian food 
guide i learned many new 
reasons behind many 
common concepts such as
why drinking 8 glasses of
water a day is important.
Dieting
Dieting is very important
to lead a healthy lifestyle 
in which can help you lead
to a healthy weight. 
Dieting also helps with 
prevention from many 
diseases such as obesity
and chronic diseases.
Hyderation
Our body depends on water
to survive. our body uses 
water to maintain our body 
temperature. Water is also 
very important for our cells,
tissues and organs to function
properly.
Reduce Fats
In order to have a healthy
lifestyle we have to reduce
the fats in our diets. Many
small things such as 
skittles can gain many 
calories. I learnt that the 
many little junk foods I used
to eat caused me to gain 
many calories without even
noticing and now day by I
try to reduce many fats as I 
can out of my diet.
Breakfest is 
Essential
Breakfast is the most important
meal of the day as it breaks the
fasting period between the time
you sleep and wake up in which
supplies you more nutrients and
freshens you with a new 
supply of glucose.
Personal Connection
I feel as if I am currently living in between a healthy and non healthy lifestyle as I do not stop myself from having junk food but I do drink a lot of water per day at eat at least 2-3 fruits a day
Personal connection 
As an individual I feel as if I am not at the appropriate age to engage in any sort of sexual intercourse and should wait till marriage as it is against my religion to preform any sort of sexual intercourse before marriage.
Personal Connection
I feel as if I sports allow me to express myself. Throughout each sport unit, I was not familiar with many sports as I did not play them as often. I made sure that I had involved myself within every sport possible which allowed me to have better communication skills and teamwork skills. With those skills It made it much easier to learn how to play those different sports.
Sports & Fit Theory
Sports and Fit theory connect with each other as many concepts from fit theory relates to sports. The resting heart relates sports as many athletes have a lower number of beats per minute compared to us, so they check that frequently to make sure they are at the resting heart rate they are suppose to be at. Also body weight training relates to sports as many athletes workout to maintain there strength, flexibility and balance in which body weight training allows you to do.
Personal Connection
Personal saftey + conflict management has taught me many things such as how i can easily solve a problem by isolating myself from the situation. This unit has also taught me that human trafficking is around me without me even knowing. The highest human trafficking rate is Brampton, Missisauga and Caledon in which makes me want to be more aware of my surrounds and aware of the warning signs that I should be causious of at all times.
Personal Connection
Throughout this unit I learnt that one decision can change a persons life. Drugs can cause many bad effects on a person both physically and mentally. I learned to pick the right people that I want around me as I do not want to live that lifestyle considering I am lucky that I still have a choice.
Substance Use & Abuse & Sexuality
Substance use and abuse and sexuality connect with each other as many young teens are sexually interactive by being under the influence. If you know someone is under the influence and did not give consent, a yes or no, there is not right for you to be touching that person as that person is not in the right state of mind.
Personal Connection
Throughout this unit I had learned many different ways I can become overall physically fit by applying things such as my resting heart. Overtime as I workout to achieve my fitness goal I will be checking my resting heart rate to see if it is in the right range and is improving.
Fit Theory & Nutrition
Fit theory and Nutrition connect with each other as you have to be physically fit to be healthy, and healthy to be physically fit as they are both aiming towards keeping you healthy and physically active. In which you have to workout and have the right diet just for you.
