-Began confining her in bedroom
-Straightjacketed, chained to toilet with little food and never solids
-Barked/growled at by father if any noise made
-No windows, no stimulus
-Possible sexual assault during this time (unconfirmed)

Clark's mother killed
-Sent him into delusion, furthering madness

1969

Genie turns 12
-Promised freedom to mother, but no action taken due to blindness and fear
-John runs from home at 18, moves in with friends

Oct. 1970

Clark+Irene have violent fight, finally allows Irene/Genie to leave house
-Left to live with parents in Monterey Park

Nov. 4, 1970

Irene applies for disability, walks into wrong social service building with Genie
-Parents arrested, Genie sent to hospital

Clark dies via gunshot

Charges against Irene dropped

Initial tests run on Genie, outlook poor
