IDEA!

Bill is introduced by a member of the House or a citizen.

Bill's first reading reading occurs in the House of Representatives.

Bill goes to committe. Groups of reps. decide whether or not to send the bill back to the House floor.

Bill is reported/could be sent back. Once reported, a bill is ready to be debated by the House of Reps.

Bill is debated. The house either agrees/disagrees with it. They also make any necessary changes.

Bill is voted on. Atleast 2/3 of the people must approve (in the House of Reps).

Bill is referred to the Senate. Atleast 2/3 must agree or the bill is dead.

Bill is sent to the President. The bill can either be: -Signed & passed by the president. If this is the case, then the bill is officially a law . - vetoed. If this happens, then the bill is sent back to the House of Reps. (where it began) then to the Senate. If atleast 2/3 of both houses agree on passing the bill, the bill can be overriden and thus, become a law. -Or, the bill can be "pocket vetoed". This means that if Congress is in session and the president doesn't take action pertaining to the bill, the bill is automatically a law.

The Bill is a law!!
