Use a sharp knife rather then a dull knife

if glass breaks sweep it up into a pan then wipe up with damp paper towel to get any small pieces. Then place broken glass into a different bag then put it into garbage.

If a knife falls jump back and let it fall DO NOT TRY TO CATCH IT!!

Don't use a knife to try to open cans, use a can opener

Wash and store knives and other sharp objects separately from other utensils

Have a separate area in your shopping carts for meats and veggies (have veggies on the top and meats on the bottom)

Store meats, fish, shellfish and poultry in the bottom parts of you you refrigerator

Separate cleaning items and food in bags

Check your bags for spillages after every use

Replace plastic bags often

Label bags so you don't mix meats and veggies in bags

Use different cutting boards when cutting up veggies and meats

Wash utensils, plates and cutting boards right after uses of raw meat

Wash hands after touch raw meat

Cover raw food and keep it separate from ready to eat food
