Choice/option of leaving out/excluding ethical identity

Benefical purposes that favor them

Symbolic Identities

Benifets of leisure-time activities

ex. Identifying as Irish only to Celebrate St. Patricks Day

Racial Passing

Chaning of Ethnic Categories

Born one race then change race as identity

Non-White Minorities

Oppositional identities

The effects of "pulled" and "pushed" together

Discrimination, Stereotyped or non-acceptance

Research Question: What circumstances may influence many to emphasize or minimize one's own ethnic background?

Conclusion: Whites have had the choice to conceal their ethical identity for beneficial purposes in cultural, social, and historical aspects. Differently to minorities which have had to deal with discrimination therefore ethical identity is of importance.
