IDV 14'

BR

The individualism (IDV) score for Pakistan is 14. This indicates that the country is on the collectivism dimension, which means that they expect all family members to hold a strong loyalty connection with them. This is true for Pakistan as family means a lot to many people. They hold connections with cousins deeper then 8th cousins type relation, which is actually really cool. Though, families are this close more because of the strong bond it builds, rather then the loyalty we feel that we owe to each other. In conclusion, the score for individualism (IDV) on Pakistan is pretty accurate.

IVR 0'

Pakistan's indulgence score is 0 meaning that its a culture that restricts themselves from giving into there desires, and pleasures because it's not right. This is fairly true, and in Pakistan you can be judged and looked down upon based off just one wrong action. For example, physical appearance and beauty standards are taken really serious, and the way you looks says a lot about you. So, if you're at a gathering and when the time comes to eat the amount of food you take is judged, so if you want to take more to please yourself, you often feel like you shouldn't because everyone else is watching you.

Pakistan's past is extremely religious based, and because its a religion dominant region its hard to change beliefs and values for a better future. However, the newer generations are no longer mixing culture with religion so they have new beliefs and a new lifestyle while still respecting the religion which could potentially lead to a healthy future for Pakistan. The toxic pattern to mix culture and religion in order to discipline children which creates a whole generation of false values.

MAS 50'

Pakistan's masculinity vs femininity score is 50. This indicates that the country doesn't have an overall preference of gender within their society. This took me to surprise as in my experience, the culture is seen to be sexist and more preferring of men. To begin, the culture leaves more men then woman with employment opportunities, as they prefer to see the woman as a housewife rather then working. This leads most woman to feel as if that being a housewife is there future, which discourages them in any type of career they originally wanted to pursue. Also, within the politics of the country, as many other countries, it is mostly male dominated. This shows that woman don't usually have a say in most decisions made. Another example would be even in everyday households, sons tend to have more freedom/rights then daughters. For example, an 18 year old son would be allowed to go out at 7pm and come back at 3am, but a female "should" go out earlier in the day and return at 7pm. In conclusion, these are a few ways on how the country is sexist towards woman.

PDI 55'

a practice of inequality and those with lesser power have to accept that

most inequality is seen between men and women

culture wise- inequality is also surfaced when occupations are brought up

law is thought to be below medicine, denistry is known to be an "easy" occupation. only medicine and engerinning could be considered the "the ones that matter" although medicine does take the lead there as well.

UAI 70'

a practice where the society doesn't know the future so they are in the middle of deciding whether or not to leave it alone or do something about the fact that they don't know what's coming

Pakistan is more towards the avoiding side of things and just letting them happen

what I've experienced growing up in Pakistan is that even at the last minute anything can change, we can work towards a future together as a society but there's no guarantee that our efforts will result in the way we want

the politics are always taking massive turns and it does depend on the society but we also can't do anything about it.
