BASIC DEFINITIONS

FORCE

An influence that can deform a body
or change its movement.

STRESS

Phisical demands that a body can resist.

STRENGTH

The material´s ability to resist some
external forces.

TYPES OF STRESS

COMPRESSION

Forces acting on a body and they stretch it

TENSION

Caused by forces acting on a body and they
stretch it.

BENDING

Caused by forces acting on a body that make
ir cuve or bend.

TORSION

Caused by actions acting on a body that make
it twist.

SHEAR

Caused by two equal forces applied in other
directions that act to close each other.

CONDITIONS

RIGIDITY

It does not change the shape when a force is
applied to it.

This is an example of the clay, that it doesn´t have rigidity

EQUILIBRIUM

When its structure remains stationary.
There are two types: stable and unestable.

STABILITY

When the body does not move when a force is
applied to it.

This is an example from the equilibrium and the
stability
