The company sells directly to the consumer, (no other parties involved). Amazon can be a good example of direct distribution as it sells its product directly to its consumers through the app.
Indirect distribution
Indirect distribution is when a company uses another retailer to get their products to the consumer. An example would be intel selling their products through retailers such as Best Buy instead of their own store.
Importers

Intensive distribution
Means to sell your product at as many outlets, it is possible to do so. In other words the company makes sure its product is available to its customers everywhere. Coca-Cola is an example, they are found in 99 percent of retail stores in Canada.
Exclusive distribution
Exclusive distribution is when a product is exclusively on one or a few retailers or partnerships. An example would be a TV show being only on Netflix.
Speciality

Wholesalers
Is a person or company that sells goods in huge quantities at a lower price, they usually sell to retailers. Costco can be an example as they are recognised as a wholesale club that sells large quantity of products at a relatively low price.
Retailer
A retailer takes products from suppliers and distributes them in their own store. The products the retailer offers are usually diverse. An example would be no frills for selling many items from different companies.
Selective distribution
Certain companies like to sell their products at only specified outlets instead of selling them everywhere. For example Sony TVs can be found mainly at Best buy and Walmart since those companies have selected to sell their products at these outlets.
