It is a convenient portable technology that operates through radio waves using the same channel or a frequency band
Advantage: By simply pushing the “talk” button military soldiers will be able to communicate with one another at a distance
MILITARY NIGHT VISION GOGGLES
The goggles maximize the use of thermal imaging and infrared light. Thus, it is possible to detect images in the dark
Advantage: It is valuable for safety navigation and surveillance. Besides, it can be useful to detect movements during the night
STEALTH AIRCRAFT
An airplane with a radar reflects away radar equipment plus it is coated with absorbent radar signals making a plane invisible
Advantage: Stealth technology aims to make the airplanes invisible to radar. Therefore, it is easier for the military to make movements without the opponent realizing it
NUCLEAR WEAPONS
It is the most destructive artificial weapons. A nuclear bomb inhibits a nuclear chain reaction that releases an enormous amount of energy
Advantage: The number one and only goal is for defense not to harm people
BIOMETRICS
Fingerprint, fingerprint mapping, facial recognition, and retina scans are examples of biometric systems
Advantages: It is more secure than a simple password; It is harder to hack and force open certain important places
Not only is it secure it is also very convenient to use since no passwords are needed to remember
It is hard to fake and/or steal
Disadvantages: It is expensive, data in biometrics can still be hacked if not very secure
SHOT SPOTTER/BULLET RECOGNITION
Sensors that are placed when a shot has been fired immediately locate where it happened, which then an algorithm will classify the event as a potential gunshot
Advantages: It helps recognize gunshots immediately and locate the perpetrator which makes it easier and faster for the officers to identify who fired the shot
Disadvantages: Expensive, can only sense a certain wide space and it will be difficult to spread it into many places and/or cities
SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS
Used to see what is happening in some places without actually being physically present to those places
Advantages: They are very useful when it comes to protecting your house, jobs, etc.; Important key for investigation
Disadvantages: As it is placed outside premises it can be very vulnerable and damaged easily, Some of the places have what we call a “blind spot”
AUTOMATIC LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION
It takes an image of the plate number which then sends off to the receiver that identifies the certain time, date, where they are going, etc.
Advantages: Very accurate, efficient, manned surveillance is reduced, and cost-effective
Disadvantages: It isn’t that effective when the weather is bad
BODY WORN CAMERAS
They are used to capture video and sometimes photo evidence when there are incidents
Advantages: Reduction of an officer's time spent on paperworks, It can immediately record the incidents and what really happened, stable evidence
