Jesus

Birth

Born in a stable to Mary and Joseph (Mary was a virgin and got pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Joseph still took care of both of them with love).

Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem to have Jesus because of a census by Romans. 3 wise men visited Jesus by following a star. They all brought gifts (gold, frankincense and myrrh). They were supposed to report to King Hared that Jesus was born. They realized they shouldn't and didn't return to Jerusalem.

King Hared was looking for Jesus so they had to flee to Egypt after Jesus' birth

Ministry

Jesus (27) was at the temple and saw the Pharisees using the temple for commerce. He got upset and flipped some tables. He set the cattle they were selling free. He yelled at the Pharisees and said he would destroy the temple and rebuild it in 3 days. This can also be seen as Jesus predicting/referencing his death.

Jesus' follower was John the Baptist (his cousin born by Mary's cousin Elizabeth). He died and Jesus needed new followers. John's death led to Jesus finding his 12 disciples.

Jesus began preaching the new way of God. He performed miracles to gain people's faith and to prove he was special. He helped others a lot.

Jesus said that all you need to do to be a good Jew is to love God and love your neighbor. This made the Pharisees mad because people stopped paying the temple/Pharisees.

Parables

Jesus used parables to teach about God. A parable I read is about a mustard seed. The seed grows into a beautiful tree. This represents your faith with God. If you care for it and nurture it, it can grow into something beautiful and strong.

Childhood

Jesus (12) went to Jerusalem for a passover meal with his parents. He stayed behind and they didn't notice until later. They went back for him but when they arrived, he was teaching the priests about God. He told his worried parents that it was obvious he would be in his father's house (God's house). His parents were confused and they all went back home. Jesus wasn't seen again in the Bible until age 27.

Death

The Pharisees got so fed up with Jesus that they told Pontius Pilate to crucify him. Pontius Pilate didn't want to kill Jesus but he didn't want the Pharisees causing an uproar. He ended up deciding to crucify him.

The Guards and Pharisees had to find Jesus. One of Jesus' disciples ratted him out for silver. His name was Judas. Judas bought land with the silver and hung himself on the land. He felt so guilty.

Jesus had to carry part of his cross up the hill he was going to be crucified on. After he was nailed to the cross, the guy beside him had compassion and knew Jesus didn't do anything wrong. Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven would be his. The other guy beside Jesus was making fun of him. Jesus forgave him and every other person who wronged him.

Jesus was put in a tomb and after 3 days, he was resurrected. Mary Magdalene found Jesus and told his disciples. Thomas doubted. Jesus appeared to them and showed proof. He told the disciples that they had to continue his work.
