Cell Division
Cell Division is the process by which a parent cell makes two identical daughter cells. It occurs when the nucleus divides (Mitosis), this has fours stages; Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase.

Mitosis
- Interphase: is the longest phase during interphase, the cell acquires nutrients, creates and uses proteins and other molecules, and starts the process of cell division by replicating the DNA.
- Metaphase: chromosomes line up across the centre of the cell, spindle fibres attach to centromes, there is no nuclear membrane.
- Prophase: the DNA condenses to form chromosomes, the nuclear membrane starts to disappear, centrioles migrate to either sides of the cell and spindle fibres begin to form.
-Anaphase: spindle fibres contract and split the centromes, the chromatids are pulled t opposite poles of the cell.
- Telophase: the chromosomes have reached opposite poles, the unwind and become invisible strands. Nuclear membrane begins to form around the chromosomes.
- Cytokinesis: the division of the cytoplasm and the other organelles contain within a cell.

Types of Cancer Tumors
Tumors can be cancerous or not cancerous. Cancerous tumors spread into or invade into normal tissues and can travel to distant places in the body to form new tumors. Benign tumors do not spread into other tissues, when removed they usually don't grow back unlike Malignant tumors.

Cell Division Gone Wrong
If cells divide with damaged chromosomes, they could just die or there might be more serious consequences. Cancer is a disease in which some of the bodies cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. Normally human cells grow and multiply through a process called cell division, to form new cells as the body needs them .
Sometimes this orderly process breaks down, and abnormal or damaged cells grow and multiply when they shouldn't. These cells may form tumors, which are lumps of tissue.

Importance of Cell Division
Cell division is fundamental to all living organisms and required for growth and development. As an essential means of reproduction for all living things, cell division allows organisms to transfer their genetic material to their offspring. Cell division is also necessary for the growth of organisms, repair of damaged tissues, healing and regeneration, and reproduction.
