Simple Squamous - Function is diffusion and fibrillation. Found in the lungs and blood vessels
Simple Cubodial - Function is secretion and absorption. Found in kidneys and covering the ovaries.
Simple Columnar - Function is secretion and absorption. Found in digestive tract and uterus.
Stratified
Stratified Squamous - Function is protection. Found in the skin and mouth.
Stratified Cuboidal - Function is secretion of saliva and sweat. Found in the sweat glands and salvilary.
Psuedostratified Columnar - Function is secretion and cilia-aided movement. It is located in lining air passages and tubes of the reproductive system.
Fibrous
Loose Connective Tissue - Its function is binding underlying organs to skin and to each other. It can be found beneath the epidermis of the skin.
Dense Tissue - Has collagenous fibers closely packed, functions in support. It can be found in the dermis of skin as well as tendons and ligaments.
Elastic Tissue - Functions in expand/contract. It surrounds internal organs.
Reticular Tissue - Functions in the immune system and can be found in lymph nodes.
Special Connective
Cartilage Tissue - Its function is to provide support on bony areas where flexibility is needed. Its located on ends of joints, nose, respiratory passages.
Bone - Function is to support the body and create blood, its found everywhere.
Blood - Function is to bring oxygen and nutrients to the body, and is found everywhere.
Adipose Tissue - It's function is to be a protective cushion, insulation to preserve body heat and stores energy. It can be found under your skin.
Nervous Tissue - Function is sends and receives messages. It is found in the brain/spinal cold neurons in your body.
Skeletal Muscle - Function is that it contracts muscles. It is attached to the bone.
Smooth Muscle - Function is the digestion and blood flow of the body. It's located in the digestive tissue as well as veins/arteries.
Cardiac Muscle - Function is to pump the heart and is located in the heart.
