Creativity - Mind Map

Creativity

Why is it relative to many different curricular areas? Creativity affects outcomes and ejecution.

Students

Physical: 17-19 years old, brain and body in development. 9th to 10th grade. 15-20 minute attention span.

Social/Emotional: feeling a combination of excitement and fear about the future. Presure from society.

Academic Needs: opportunities to explore future interests and gain a quality education.

Piagetian developmental level: Formal Operational level.

Vygotskian considerations: Concept of the zone of proximal development, based on what the student can do independently and by what the student can do when assisted and guided by the teacher. My job is to guide them, give them the necessary tools withouh givin them all the answers.

Relevance to prior experiences: In this two last years of High School, is expected from them to rely in prior knowledge in a social and educational manner.

Creativity could be taught in Art class

In art, creativity can bring live and meaning to a painting

Creativity could be taught in Music class

In Music, creativity helps to determinate the melody, rhytm, and harmony.

Concept I would teach: Creativity helps to overcome challenges when learning a new language (Spanish) or skill.

Nonexamples: Trying to say random words or mimic a native speaker when confusion or struggles come.

Prototype: Use relia (authentic material) to help your communication and understanding.

Defining Characteristics: When you struggle, you can find creative and useful tools or ways to communicate or remember a world in Spanish. Songs, objects, drawings, gestures and tones.

Exemplers: Use creativity to remember or communicate. Authentic materials allows your brain to remember the word in Spanish or to help the receptor know what you are trying to express. When not knowing a color, point a differnet object with the same color.

Misconception from Overgeneralizing: Rely on creativity when effort and knowledge can take place. Letting creativity take more place than effort.

Misconception from Undergeneralizing: Trying to not use anything but memory to help your communication and leanguage skills, causing discomfort and panic with the unknown

Correlational Features: 1. Wanting to communicate faster only using creativity with other objects 2. Wanting to use the rules to the tenses 3. Feeling uncable to communicate without having to be creative all the time; being creative is simpler and easier than to rememebr all the rules, words, and meanings.
