India - Mind Map

India

Indulgence

Score: 26

This indicator tells you the difference between restraint, holding back from doing wrong things and indulgence, indulging in wrong things.

In India, it mostly a country based on restraint. Which means that Indians feel that having control on their indulgence and making right decisions is a present aspect in the country. I feel that having a good decision making process will not only help you in the present, but also in the future because of ability to keep making right decisions.

Power Distance

Score: 77

This indicator tells you the amount of say that a business or corporation has on the people.

India is seen to have a high power distance. Which in turn tells you that the people cannot do simple tasks without being told how to do it by managers or owners. Which can also tell you that many Indians cannot think for themselves in many cases and rely on people of higher power.

Individualism

Score: 48

This indicator tells you about the society that is divided into collectivistic and individualist.

India is a country which has many religions such as Muslims, Hindus, Christians and etc. India Has more then 20 states and every state shares some similarities and some differences and because of having a population of over 1 billion people India's society is divided into groups and people in India would look after the ones which belong in their "group" to show loyalty and that's why they have such a low score in Individualism. According to my personal experience I believe that India is less Individualism and more collectives and I say that because when I was gone for vacation to India and it was independence day everyone had a flag of India in their car but were mostly celebrating with people of their own religion.

Masculinity

Score: 56

This indicator tells you the way the people in a country are motivated.

India is a masculine country, as it scores more than 50. People in India care a lot about the kind of work that they do and will always strive to be the one that will stand out. Indians care a lot about money and the many different gains that they get from material items. I feel that this may be bad, as having too much of a care for material things may interfere with your personal life, like family and friends. It is very important to have a work-life balance, as this will not only prevent stress, but will keep you healthy in the long-run.

Subtopic

uncertainty Avoidance

Score: 40

This indicator informs the way the people care about the future. The difference between a country doing something to change the outcome of the future or letting the future unfold without interruption.

India is in the middle when it comes to this category. Many people have religious beliefs in India, that whatever happens will happens and whatever it means, it is for the best. On the other side, companies or big corporations incorporate new strategies in order to best fit in with societies needs. I feel that outcomes can be hard to cope and deal with. While this does hold true, we should learn from our mistakes and use this to improve in the future. So half of India has the right opinion.

Long term orientation

Score: 51

This indicator tells us about how people are focused to there religion.

India is a country where people focus on there religion very much as there are people they are following different religions. So people have respect for every religion in thier mind
