Advantages

Motivation for Students to pay attention while in class.

Helps the teacher asses how the students are learning and can adjust teaching methods as needed.

Makes sure the student understand the concepts as whole and confirms if the student is ready to move on.

Disadvantages

Since the evaluation is at the end it can be to late to help the students go back and understand.

Students can have a negative effect, with anxiety and being overwhelmed of such a big test at one time.

Puts pressure on the teacher, and making sure the students grasp concepts over a longer period of time.
