Cultural Beliefs and Biases
In modern day America it is a common belief that
higher education is needed in order to have a secure job
that will earn a person enough money to support not only themselves but their family.
It is also a common belief that people without a college degree will never have a good job and will not be able to provide for a family or take care of themselves.
In addition to this there is a bias against 'poor' students. These students often times don't have the money need for school supplies or for extracurricular activities.
Social Inequalities
The biggest social inequality that exists in this social issue is social class or socioeconomic status. This is based on a person's yearly income.
The second social inequality that plays a role is race.
Social Roles
Roles that are played in this social issue would be those of the student and the tax payer.
Existing Social Conditions
The social condition with the largest impact on this issue would have to be the unemployment rate.
