Structures
Types of structures
Shell
Shell structures are structures that are thin and curved to contain its items and are made to withstand the weather.
Frame
Frame structures are buildings that can use any material and are basically skeletons for buidigns.
Solid
A solid structure is a strong type of structure that uses strong materials to support loads.
Internal forces
Internal forces are forces that act within a structure.
Types of internal forces are: Tension is a force that causes stretching , compression is the opposite of tension and gives the structure pressure, shear is the force that breaks something, torsion is a force that twist things.
External forces
External forces are similar to internal forces but external.
Some examples of external forces are: applied force, normal force, tension force, friction force.
Symmetry in structures
Symmetry means that if you look at one side of a structure will look the same, as if a mirror is between the two.

Here is an examle of symmetry in a structure.
