Where does it come from?

A molecule of pure water is made of two hydrogen atoms mixed to an oxygen atom.

Water on Earth cycles through oceans, where it evaporates from the surface, into the atmosphere, creates clouds, falls onto the land as rain, travels through wetlands, rivers, lakes and underground then returns to the ocean

Pollution

Water pollution is the taint of water bodies, usually as a result of human activities, in a way that negatively affects its real uses

Water pollution reduces the ability of the body of water to provide the ecosystem services that it will provide.

They do not have access to clean drinking water.

Safe drinking water for the indigenous has been hard to get because of geography, chronic under funding, and past government policies. People are also not helping them get clean water.

How we use it in Canada

In Canada water is used for many many different purposes including drinking, irrigation, manufacturing, mining, generating thermal electricity and diluting waste.

Water is also essential and everybody needs, or uses water in some way or form.

How is it cleaned

With Filtration, the clear water on top passes through filters filled of sand, gravel and charcoal to remove dissolved particles such as dust, parasites, bacteria, viruses and chemicals.

Using chlorine, Chlorine or chloramine is added to kill parasites, bacteria, viruses and germs, making the water clean.
