Those living in underdeveloped countries are forced into labour and exploited of their physical resource. This is because the world moves at such a fast pace and companies are trying to keep up with the demand of their products that they resort to cheap labour costs that will get their products distributed faster. Although cheap labour is good for businesses since the cost of labour is less, the overall economic growth of the countries where they seek labour is often slow and underdeveloped.
Fashion Brands Exploiting Bangladesh Workers International brands such as Zara, H&M and GAP exploit the work that Bangladesh garment workers do, involving them in malpractice as well as not paying them the wage they rightfully deserve.
Culture is the values and beliefs that every community, society or nation has. This is very important because they shape the behaviour of those living in a community. Everyone within the community ensures that everyone behaves in a morally correct way. Globalization has mixed and intertwined all different cultures, thus changing the rules and customs which were formed as a result of culture. This connectedness has led some countries/communities to adopt western cultures and ideas, and abandon their own. Community leaders can't force their citizens to abide by their rules anymore because they would be regarded as backward-minded and not accepted by the international society. They adopt cultures that are very different from their own which twist their perception of actual law and cause them to engage in violent activities such as rape and domestic violence.
India Adopting Western Ideas
One of the biggest countries that has adopted western culture is India. The influence of western culture in India started all the way back in the 19th century with the British rule. But more currently, western culture has had an effect on the caste system, joint families, marriage and other social structures, modern values such as humanism, criminal law has been reformed, customs such as sati (Hindu practice in which a widow sacrifices herself by burning herself while her husband is also being burned) and untouchability have been abolished.
Serious environmental challenges and concerns have risen and been linked to increased globalization. Some of these issues are deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, pollution caused by the transportation of goods, loss of biodiversity due to infrastructure development and the relocation of invasive and dangerous species into new environments. Due to globalization there is a strong focus on commerce which includes imports and exports. If demand exceeds supply then exporting could lead to deforestation because supply is limited and in order to meet the demand they're cutting trees to produce the materials they need.
Starbucks Contributing to Deforestation
Since 2008, Starbucks has been the number one coffee shop worldwide. Starbucks uses palm oil, soy, beef, and paper in their products and packaging which exposes them to many at risk forest-made materials. On the Forest 500 Index (tracks policies and performance of top 350 most influential companies and 150 financial institutions linked to deforestation in their supply chains and investments) the company performs very poorly scoring 25% overall making it one of the many companies contributing to deforestation.
Globalization provides societies with the ability of exploring other cultures, promoting language, cuisines, music, fine and liberal arts, fashion and more. With globalization, the access to new cultures not only creates diversity but also expand and improve educational systems, as well as creating more business opportunities that eventually grow the economy.

Globalization allows countries to stay connected to each other, constantly aware of the events and news of each other. Specifically with innovations and technology. In which countries are able to share information regarding their technological advances with each other, improving healthy competition through countries, societies and businesses adapting foreign knowledge to further grow technological development around the world.
The First Modern Computer: Apple I
The first modern computer with a complete circuit board and a screen was invented by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs. Which eventually spread into other countries before the idea of a modern computer was adapted by many countries who then began to make their own and therefore contributing to the technological development around the world. Without globalization, computers would have been only known to American citizens and computers would not have developed as much as they are today.
Globalization has greatly impacted the economy, contributing to its growth through diversity in global hiring, access to jobs from one country to another (in which people who are unemployed can work overseas, thus increasing the working population), access to resources and global trade that expands markets and increase accessible goods and services that could not have been available domestically.
