Fun Fact: Most people have enough lipids to act as a food source for 24 to 30 days.

Difference Between Saturated and Unsaturated Fatty Acid(lipids) SATURATED FATS: Saturated fatty acids contain single chain of carbon atoms with no double bond. Consists of Animal fats, palm oil, coconut oil. Hydrocarbon chain without double bond only single bond. UNSATURATED FATS: Unsaturated fatty acids contain carbon chains with one or more double bond.Hydrocarbon chain with one or more double bonds. Liquid at room temperature. Consists of Plant and vegetable oil, avocado, sunflower oil, walnuts, flax, canola oil and fish oil. Triglycerides are lipids. A triglyceride molecule is made up of 3 molecules of fatty acids that are connected to a glycerol molecule. A glycerol molecule is made up of 3 carbon molecules that has an OH bond on each. The fatty acid molecule is made up of a long chain of carbon and hydrogen atoms with a carboxyl group at one end.

Lipids are fats. The cell membrane is made up of lipids. There are several functions of lipids in the human body, One of the main functions is to provide the muscles with energy. here is a link to a video describing the basic role of lipids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BBYBRWzsLA

functions of lipids are: energy source, providing insulation and protection to organs, giving structure to cell membranes, generating heat when temperatures change
