Types of societies - Mind Map

Types of societies

Industrial

instead on focusing on the production of foods, the productions of goods for export are a higher priority

craftsman are responsible for the entire product, while other systems, as a group may assist in the work, only the craftsman is responsible

the citizens tend to live around the factories, and move with them for job purposes

Postindustrial

The united states is an example of this, rather than the production of goods they produce information

less farming and much more work in labs, or an office

gives the people freedom to choose from a wide variety of choices of careers

Preindustrial

Hunter gatherer

Consist of the collectivization, of food through either hunting living animals, or collecting food such as plants

Often do not stay in one place perminately, moving from place to place looking for resources

Because of this they generally have a small population normally not exceeding over 100 individuals

pastoral

Instead of searching for food the take care of their own animals instead of relying on natural resources

They are also a nomadic population moving from place to place to take care of their flock

Because of this they are a much more effective society, and can support a larger population

Horticultural

Consist of them producing their own food through crops, and reusing their old resources again to benefit the land

use a wide array of technologies to benefit their crops, also using hand labor to produce products

They generally don't move from their designated area, and their population may range from either, 20, to 2000 people

Agrarian(Agricultural)

uses further technologies to assist in crop production such as, using cows for plowing fields rather that hand labor, and irrigation to help crops grow bigger

This allows many to be in this group, while the system can afford to feed the population

there is also a class difference however, between the rich, and poor
