Gilgamesh

"Here you are,even you, afraid of bravery's might? I will go before you You can call out to me "Go on, be not afraid!" If I fall on the way, I'll establish my name:"Gilgamesh, who joined battle with fierce Humbaba," they'll say."
Arrogant
"What would I get if I marry you? You are a brazier that goes out when it freezes. A flimsy door that keeps out neither wind nor draught.." By him insulting Ishtar he made her angry and which caused the Bull of Heaven incident.
Heroism
Gilgamesh is the protagonist because he grows as person and changes for the better throughout the poem.
Change
Gilgamesh is dynamic character. He starts out as being selfish and and wild, " Lording it like a wild bull, his head thrust high. The onslaught of his weapons had no equal. He was harrying the young men of Uruk beyond reason" later he becomes caring " I am heartsick for my friend" he changes and learns the value of life.
Conflict
Gilgamesh had a lot of internal conflict. For example his fear of dying caused him problems as did his arrogance. His arrogance caused him to want notoriety for killing which led to the death of his friend.

Odysseus
Odysseus is godlike "How could I forget godlike odysseus" and kind " Remember him a godly king as kind as a father"

"When I think of him I dont want to sleep or eat for no one in the entire Greek army worked as hard as Odysseus"
Strong
"You're a hard man, Odysseus, stronger than other men, and you never wear out, a real iron-man"
Loving
All Odysseus wanted was to get back to his home and to be with his wife. He even denied a goddess knowing that her immortal beauty was beyond his wifes mortal beauty. " I know very well that Penelope for all her virtues would pale beside you shes only human and you are a goddess eternally young. Still I want to go back. My heart aches for the day I return to my home."
Heroism
Odysseus is the protagonist. He is the basic hero he is strong, a leader, courageous.
Change
Odysseus is a dynamic character. At the beginning he is prideful he waits around at the cave and ends up having a run in with Polphemus and he could have avoided the entire thing had he just took his men and left. By the end he is a changed man no longer prideful, he even disguised himself as a poor beggar "because I am dirty and dressed in rags and beg through the land? I do it because I have to thats how it is with beggars and vagabonds."
Conflict
Odysseus conflicts were external conflicts. There were Gods, creatures, and other people that kept interfering with his return home.
