1. Stephen King- When we are watching horror movies Stephen King believes that fear makes us blind.
2. Sigmund Freud- He believes that when we are watching horror movies we respond in 3 different ways. Which are superego, id and ego.
- Superego: our conscience, our sense of guilt and knowledge of right and wrong developed by parents and society.
- id: raging emotions, drives, and feelings – buried below the surface of the conscious mind. We are largely unaware of id impulses which surface in the form of dreams and nightmares.
- Ego: our personality, which is molded by environment, and upbringing.
3. Physiology of Fear- In this article it explained a few different ways about why people watch horror movies and why they don't. It said that kids don't watch horror movies because they believe that it is real life. But it also said people watch horror movies because gender roles that were constructed by society. Which is the male is strong and brave, while the female is supposed to be terrified.
