Natural Disasters

Terraforming

Terraforming beaks the natural surface breaking animals habitats causing the endangerment of certain species.

Earth's natural surface being changed basically making it so that the surface is flat for humans to optimize more surface for homes, development of our cities, and the increase of humanity.

A solution to terraforming is that we can stop thinking about ways to make a more optimized space for humans but just try to work around and make developments that wouldn't affect the land.

A 2nd solution is that scientists and governments are trying reuse materials from resources that we have already to make it so that we don't really need the machines to terraform for more resources.

Terraforming causes greenhouse gasses when being done leading to air pollution which affect lots of attributes in the enviroment.

Deforestation

Cause

Farming, cattle grazing, mining, and drilling account for more than half of all deforestation. The rest is accounted for by forestry practices, wildfires, and, to a lesser extent, urbanization. Forests are chopped down in Malaysia and Indonesia to make room for the production of palm oil, which can be found in everything from shampoo to saltines.

Impact

Forests provide shelter, livelihoods, water, fuel, and food security to 1.25 billion people worldwide. In addition, woods are home to 750 million people (about one-fifth of the entire rural population). 60 million indigenous people are included in this figure. However, deforestation disturbs these people's life, often with disastrous effects. Deforestation has exacerbated social strife and migration in Southeast Asia's Greater Mekong region, where land tenure institutions are weak.

Solution

To combat deforestation we need to change our politics. The government's role in combatting deforestation is crucial. We need them to adopt comprehensive domestic and global forest conservation measures based on the most recent understanding, so that we may live in a world free of catastrophic climate change.

Effect

Deforestation contributes heavily towards global warming. Our trees are so vital for us as they control the number of greenhouse gases that we are exposed to. Deforestation is so constant that the ratio of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere leaves our global warming issue ever more threatening.

Solution

Another solution to combat deforestation is to install initiatives to plant trees. Older trees should be cut down for newer trees to be placed. Due to the fact that we develop urban settlements often, we don't match the number of trees being cut with the trees being planted.

Natural disasters can be caused by deforestation in many ways. It expands the hazard of shortages and floods. It also can compromise our watershed health which is paramount for our communities to flourish and live. Deforestation causes forest fires to be much more periodic and harsh. It can contaminate water supplies, reduce woodland cover, ruin habitats, and eradicate districts.

Pollution

Air Pollution

Cause

Water Pollution

Cause

Oil Spills, chemicals and natural gas can leak into the ocean, and poor sewage treatment, fertilizer, and garbage all contribute to water pollution.

Land and Water have many of the same pollutants.

Land Pollution

Solution

Natural disasters can be cause from terraforming because the amount of energy and resources we used which produce a byproduct of greenhouse gases can sometimes cause natural disasters, sometimes they are caused in the area that is being terraformed.

Solutions

One of the ways we can help reduce natural disasters would be by conserving forests, wetlands and coral reefs.

Effects

Because of the strong winds that hurricanes and tornadoes, more and more different environments and habitats keep getting destroyed, therefore destroying animals homes and leaving them with no where to live.

The wildlife that is living in the regions that are being destroyed by these disasters lose most of their food sources as well. The more animals that have no source of food, the more the food chain gets disrupted resulting in more animals going extinct.

Cause

Natural Disaster used to be caused baby mainly natural causes, as the name suggests, but nowadays natural disaster are, for the most part, caused by the air pollution and green house gases in the air.

Someone can see dark smoke from the pipes of large trucks or factories. However, air pollution is invisible.

Natural disasters can also cause air pollution to increase quickly. When volcanoes erupt, they eject volcanic ash and gases into the atmosphere.

Around the world, people and governments are trying to combat pollution. Recycling is becoming more common. In recycling, trash is processed so its useful materials can be used again. Glass, aluminum cans, and many types of plastic can be melted and reused. Paper can be broken down and turned into new paper.

Reducing pollution needs environmental, political, and economic leadership. Developed nations must work to reduce and recycle their materials. Developing nations need to work to improve their economies without destroying the environment.

Impacts

An increase in the amount of natural disasters and the serverity of the disasters that now occur.

When air pollutants such as nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide mix with moisture, they change into acids. They then fall back to earth as acid rain.

Around the world deforestation contributes to 15% of total greenhouse gas emissions.

Deforestation also increases the risk of forest fires. Clearcut areas of forest reduce humidity levels and lead to unstable ecosystems. Wildfire spreads faster and burns hotter, releasing more toxic pollutants into the air.

Deforestation and terraforming are very similar as deforestation can be caused by terraforming as terraforming breaks the land and landform killing trees and sometimes destroying full forests.
