rhttps://www.canada.ca/en/services/environment/weather/climatechange/climate-plan/net-zero-emissions-2050.htmlCanada's Plan to Reach Net ZeroI've read this through about 4 - 5 times, and on paper it sounds like an amazing idea, let's ALL cut down our greenhouse gas emissions as a whole; instead of a handful of cities trying to reach "net zero", let's all participate. Their plan is to either emit no greenhouse gases whatsoever (good luck with that), or offset the emissions by doing things such as planting trees or using technology to suck out the greenhouse gasses straight out of the sky like magic. Personally I think the motive and cause is great, we need to cut down all of our bullshit that we emit each day, but dude, you're not gonna get everyone to abide. The amount of smoke, steam, and waste produced by these major companies is a lot to offset. Have you driven by those big towers that look like big cloud makers, and all of those semi trucks and busses? yes you have because they are everywhere. Those things are running everyday. All day everyday emitting a shitload of toxic smoke and steam. You're telling me that you're gonna offset that? in every Canadian city? sounds very unlikely. Although it does sounds unlikely, we have to at least try. I understand I sound pessimistic but can you blame me? Everything at this point just feels like it's a melting shit pot that's gonna explode at any moment. It seems that the only thing the world is revolving around in 2022, can be boiled down to COVID, world war, climate change, and money problems. This is my opinion on "Net zero emissions", good idea, but unrealistic. Unrealistic because the way governments have been handling this crisis since it has been brought to them by the world's scientists. Y'all are late to the boat. You were too busy trying to kill each other over money, weapons of mass destruction, oil and drugs. Observing the world around me is like watching playground fights but with armies. Sorry for the language, this type of thing makes me frustrated.
