Definition

Care (noun)

.. the act of acknowledging the interests, needs and/or rights of an entity.

An entity can be ...

... a person

an individual

or a group of people

more or less specified/defined

e.g.

"I care for the elderly."

"I care for my friends."

"I care for my family."

... a concept/idea

e.g.

"I care for Human Rights."

... any natural entitiy

e.g.

"I care for the environment."

The result of this acknowledgement results in a process of reconciliation of these interests, needs and/or rights with the interests, needs and/or rights of other entities.

Herein lies the basis for a care provider to be able to limit the service towards a receiver of care.

"to care for sth./s.o." means

she/he/it is important and we act on it

Usually, the expression "to care about ..." is connected to some concrete action that manifests this care.

e.g.

a concrete action

experiencing emotions resulting from attachment and/or empathetic sharing of an experience
