Riding
Background
I have been riding since when I started to walk
I started by taking privit lessons from a family friend
My grandma's best friend introduced me to riding
I like how I can learn how to do different things on an animal. Jumping, galloping, and talking to my instructors make riding fun.
Learning & Reflecting
Something that is difficult and challenging is when I am riding a horse that does not want to listen to me. Another thing is when I am learning something new and I don't know how to do it and the horse doesn't know how to do it. Something that is rewarding /worth it is when I do something new or jump a little higher then before.
How have I improved by learning more things about riding and taking care of horses. I have also made progress in the variety of horses that I can ride.
Some skills that I need to practice to get better at riding are handling different horses and understanding how to do things.
One time my horse stopped behind a horse that kicks. I tried to get away but I ended up trying to get the other horse away from us. I ended up trying to get both horses away from each other.
Riding relates to other parts of my life because it helps me stay strong phisicaly and mentally. It also gives me something to talk about with other people who ride.
Riding has affected other parts of my life by helping me get a job at the barn. Other parts of my life have helped me with riding because all the working out I do for swim helps me build up muscles for riding and working with the horses.
Riding has made me learn different ways to be safe and handle bigger animals.
Looking Forward
Some of my goals related to riding is learning more about horses and better ways to ride, but also I hope to get my own horse at some point.
I might continue and grow as an equestrian by learning more about the horse itself and practicing ridding as often as I can.
I would say that you have to be physically and mentally strong, be safe and understand what you are doing.
