Canada has a universal health care system funded through taxes. This means that any Canadian citizen or permanent resident can apply for public health insurance.

The poverty rate in 2018 was 11% based on Canada's Official Poverty Line. This means that 3.98 million Canadians, or 1 in 9, were living in poverty in 2018.

Government

Canada is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy, established on the rule of law and respect for rights and freedoms.

Education

The Canadian government supports education from kindergarten through to the post-secondary level, spending on average almost six percent of its GDP on education.

Human rights

Canada has all human rights including, the right to live free from torture, the right to live free from slavery, the right to own property, the right to equality and dignity, and the right to live free from all forms of discrimination

Gender Inequality

Gender inequality is prominent in Canada. Women hold only 8% of top-paid jobs in Canada. 21% of single moms are raising their children in poverty in Canada, versus 9.6% of the total Canadian population living below the poverty level. 50% of women in Canada above the age of 18 have experienced sexual or physical assault.

Safety

Canada is a safe country with a very low crime rate. The areas with less security in Canada are reduced to specific areas of major cities
