Was Starr's friend since they were small

Died by getting shot by the police

It happened after Starr and Khalil leaves the party they were at because of gunshots, but while he was driving he gets pulled over

Khalil does everything police asks but then suddenly gets shot three times

Starr holds him until his last breath and she was held at gunpoint until other police officers came

Khalil gets shot by the police and they were kind of fighting, making it person vs person.

Maverick and Carlos argue about Starr using her voice and talking to the police about the shooting.

They see Brenda, Khalil’s mom, crying. Starr gets mad and tells her mom that she was not even here for him when he was alive, but her mom lashes out at her.

Starr's dad tells Starr to stay quiet about the shooting and how she was the witness, but Starr's uncle tells her to use her voice, which she agrees to do. She is afraid but does it for the sake of Khalil.

Khalil gets shot for nothing. And then when Starr had her interview with the police, they were more concerned of him being a drug dealer rather than worrying about the police officer who killed Khalil.

Starr's friend Hailey seems racist. She freaked out about Starr talking about a black boy that died on Tumblr.
