before he died, he called his disciples together and requested them to sing Sohila, the evening hymn

provided spiritual guidance and structure in belief and practice

instituted the common meal, the rich and poor, Hindu and Muslim, to sit together while eating

spoke out against depending on books to learn the true religion

Did his best to help people understand what the teachings meant

Treated everyone, men and women, equally

Told stories that taught a meaningful lesson

Teaching God's path and ways to all who listen

Accepting and loving everyone, even if no one else did

Forgiving of sins and wrong doings

Died on the cross for our sins and for our atonement
