There are accommodations that you can make for a student before, during, or after a test that is given. You also need to make sure that when you are grading a child with special needs that you do not put zeros on their report card, help them to become better and strengthen skills. It is so important to have portfolios for the children because you are able to really see how the child works and the ways that you can help them learn new skills.

You may have to make accommodations when using portfolios with students with disabilities, particularly in selecting and evaluating portfolio pieces.
