The scientist did not wait to see the results of Algernon but already began experiments with Charlie.

Undercover Operation

He had a very sad and depressing life after the operation because of this.

They told him not to tell anyone at all about the operation so therefore his friends couldnt understand what he was going through

Effect of the operation

But because of the scientists incorrect hypothesis, the smartness only lasted for awhile then decrease dramatically.

He was happy before, but his urge to become smart made him go through the operation.
