Is Uncle Pliny obsessed with work?

He gets up before dawn to work

He works when at the baths in the inner rooms - he only stops reading when in the baths

He studies when on journeys

He sleeps the 'littlest amount' so he can study as much as possible

He thinks any time not spent studying is work

He was accustomed to say every book was of use

He makes notes on every book he makes

Instead of spending spare time relaxing he spends it studying

He makes his secretary wear long sleves so he can make notes

He gets carried around Rome so he can study

He reads over dinner

He does all his studies in the bustle of the city
