Love and care is a really important part of a family
Love and care is really important. They give us support and warmness. If we are alone and nobody ever care about us. We are going to be so lonely. We need to do everything by oursleves, this is really hard. In the story, Mary has no one that loves her. Everybody just want her money. When she needs help, no one will come. Realizing that no body is feeling sad when Mary died. It means that there are no love that is connected to Mary. No one even care about Mary. Nobody is feeling sad about Mary. In conclusion, Love and care is really important
It is really impolite to ask for anyone's money, it may make people angry.
We are not saying that asking for money is wrong, but there is no reason for us to get money from a person that we don't even have relationship with. In the story, a lot of people is asking for money from Mary. They don't even love Mary, they hate Mary. They only want Mary's money. For example, uncle Albert, he don't even like Mary, but he wants Mary's money. This is what we called "no relationship". As we see in the story, Mary is really angry that people that don't even love her come and ask her fir money. In conclusion, it is ok to ask for money from someone, but don't make people feel that you only want their money
We should thank our parents istead of harming them.
Our parents are the one that created us, we should be kind to them and be grateful to them. In the story, Jackie just wants to harm and kill her Mom just because Mary didn't agree for Jackie to marry Tom. There will alwaysbe a reason why Mary don't agree with it. There is always a reason. Mary had live much more longer than Jackie, so she had much more life experience. She killed her mom, did she get a good result? No, she didn't. In fact, she killed the only person that will love her for ever. In conclusion, we should be kind to our parents. Parents are the only one that will always love us. Everybody may left us expect for our parents,

The motif of this book is that no one is loving Mary. EVeryone wants her money. We should not be like that. EVerybody, especially a mom needs to be loved. Mary created JAckie but Jackie just wants to kill mom

I think that this is a really bad and sad thing that happened in the story. A mother that nobody cares. this is a really bad thing that kids do. They should help their mother. They should not stand by and say nothing. No one in the family loves her. This is a really sad thing that happens

At first, Jackie seemed to be the one who love Mary the most. She talked aboout I only want Mom to be happy and stuff. But at last, it is him that killed Mary

Almost all parts of the book is talking about detecting who killed Mary. It talks about how polices asked everyone about what they are doing at that time. It is so detailed that it talks about the emotion change or change on face

Everyone came to the Clarkson's house for Mary's party. But sadly, no one come because they raelly like Mary. They all want Mary's money. The only one that really likes Mary is Jacky. Diane is not only not liking Mary, she hates Mary. She is angry that Mary killed her father. On the feast, everyone was angry that Mary didn't give them money. The next day, Mary was killed

Molly is really angry on the feast. She is easy to get angry when others asked her about money. He thinks that everybody only wants her money. No one truly love her.

"I know you all want my money, you come here for a free dinner, You don't want to see me. You don't love me. You want my garde, you want my house. Well you can all wait, nobody is getting the house away before I'm Dead!

He don't like Mary very much. He is a really mean person. Only care about the person that he like. He wants money from Mary because he want to send his wife to to the doctor.

At the beggining of the story, Diane had no money to come to buy train tickets. So, she asked Jackie for money. She need train tickets because they are participating in a party in her mom's house. Jackie is helping mother preparing the party.

Summary

Mary is the mom of Jackie, Diane, and Roger. As we know, children's usually love their mother. Unfortunately, in this family, Mary is the one who everybody hate. Everybody want her money. Well, there is one person that wants her money so much and killed her. they called the Police and the police asked everyone in the house. At last, when they sadi that it is Jackie. Jackie said that the sleeping tablet bottle was in Diane's bag. But the Police said that they only told him that it is in diane's room. So, they are more sure that it is Jackie, other wise, how did he know that it is in the bag? It ended up to be Jackie that killed her.

Rowena Akinyemi is British, and after many years in Africa, she now lives and works in Cambridge. She was worked in English Language Teaching for twenty years, in Africa and England, and has been writing ELT fiction for ten years. Love or money? Was her first story for the Oxford Bookworms Library, and she has now written several other stories for the series, including Remeber Miranda and The Witches of Pendle (both at Stage 1).
