How does the scientific method help scientists aquire information?

Why is it important to know the metric system?

It’s an easier way to convert standard to metric.

Easy to convert because you can use KHDBDCM. You can convert huge numbers by just moving the decimal point.

If there was a height limit for a ferris wheel,you would want an exact height not a general height.

How can data collection be more accurate.

Having specific information will give you a more accurate base.

Testing an experiment once and setting the result as your final answer would be risky, testing it multiple times and comparing the results would be more accurate.

In math doing the problem and going with the answer on a test would be risky checking your answer would be more accurate.

What happens when a expiriment doesn't lead to a hypothesis being supported?

We got a mini cactus and we had to make a schedule to water it. Watering it once a week was drowning the cactus so we water it once a month.

A good hypothesis answers the question.So the question is, will the ball bounce back up to the dropping point. The hypothesis would be what you think would happen. So the ball will bounce back up to the dropping point. You test the hypothesis and determine whether its supported or not.

Your hypothesis wasn’t correct so you could change the experiment, rewrite your hypothesis, or continue with the experiment.

What makes a good question?

For example in sixth grade we took swabs of different places put them in petri dishes. We checked and wrote down what changed everyday for a week. The question was how much does bacteria grow in a week. The question was a good question because it lead to a good answer and other questions.

For example a bad question would be does the moon orbit around the earth. A good question would be how long does it take the moon to orbit around the earth. A good scientific question is one that can have an answer and be tested.A good scientific question also build on what you already know.

A good question leads to a good answer.
