PVC Process

VCM is polymerized to PVC resin. VCM is stripped from the resin and the resin is finaly dried to produce high quality PVC resin.

Main product: PVC/polyvinyl chloride

EDC/VCM Process

(3).3 Then, EDC is subject to "cracking process" -> VCM + hydrochloric acid (HCl) as by-product.

(3).2 Oxy-Chlorination process: ethylene + hydrochloric acid + oxygen -> EDC.

(3).1 Direct Chlorination process: Chlorine (1) + Ethylene -> EDC/ethylene di-chloride, (used mainly to produce VCM)

Main product: VCM/vinyl chloride monomer

Chlor-Alkali Process

Process:

(1) Common salt -> purified salt (dissolved in water) -> (is then electrolyzed) to Caustic soda; chlorine gas and hydrogen gas. Technology: sophisticated cationic exchange membrane technology

Main product: Caustic Soda; By-products: chlorine gas, hydrogen gas and sodium hypochlorite solution
