Independent work

FREELANCING

How its done

Clients like?

-- Update your clients on the work your doing regularly

--Re-read your work before sending it to clients

--Be polite and kind

Payment

It is a good idea to ask for 25 to 30 per cent of the payment upfront

Goals/deadlines

If you cannot meet the deadline do not
say yes to a client

Get enough rest, free time and good sleep

Find/bid for work

-- Make sure you can do the job

--Do not take a project that is of no interest

-- Focus on the low paying jobs first from which you can gradually build up

--Ask questions to know you are sure what the clients want before starting on the job/project

-- You can even provide suggestions to the client

Profile

--Write your profile from a client's perspective

--Try to make it stand out and display those
skills which are unique to you without boasting

_ Highlight your key skills first

-- Mention the important services you can provide.

--Include samples/project of your work if you can with clear labels.

_

Proposal

-- Start with telling them how you've researched about the job and what you know

-- Then introduce yourself briefly

--Show how you will help them and what skills you will use

--Try to use the expression "we" as frequently as possible

--Never submit tailor made proposals/cover letters but a different one for each job requirement
