History

In 1989 remarried June Mulgrew

Was made New Zealands High Commissioner to India

Jet boated the River Ganges

In 1975 his wife and younger daughter died

in 1958 led an expedition to the South Pole on tractors

Built the first school and hospitals in that part of Nepal

Raised $ 30'000 for the Sherpa people.

He climbed Mt Everest in 1953

In 1951 & 1952 he went on expeditions to observe Mt Everest

In 1950 he gained experience climbing Swiss & Austrian alps

Personal Challenges

Having to prepare the funeral for his wife and daughter
