Texas became independent in 1836.

1835 the settlers who lived in texas started a revolution against the invaders.

Mexicans then renamed the town to ''Coahuila y tejas''.

Spanish missionaries were the first europeans to settle down in Texas and converted it to christianity

People first came to the area that is now texas at least 16,700 years ago.
