What was not predicted was that, when Ganon emerged from beneath Hyrule Castle, it would take control of the ancient technology - the smaller Guardians using Malice; and the huge Divine Beasts using four Malice-created proxies, the Blight Ganons, killing and trapping the spirits of their Champion pilots Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa within.
Everyone within Hyrule Castle, including the King, and many outside were killed in the process, essentially destroying the Kingdom of Hyrule and causing scars which would last a century, as the ruins of settlements including Hyrule Castle Town continued to litter the landscape. Hateno Village was notable as one of the few places to escape the Calamity.
Amongst the survivors of the initial wave of attacks were the Princess and her appointed knight, Link, the current holder of the Master Sword.
While he comforted her when she despaired at the losses, ultimately he would fall in battle attempting to protect her at the Ash Swamp. Seeing him collapse would finally trigger her sealing power, disabling all the Malice-fuelled Guardians at the location, but too late to save him.
At the instigation of the voice within the Master Sword, she had two Sheikah warriors take him to the Shrine of Resurrection to save his life, then took the Master Sword itself to Korok Forest, to sit in a pedestal in front of the Great Deku Tree to recover.
Finally, she would face Ganon alone in Hyrule Castle, and sealed it in a stalemate which left them both trapped for a hundred years, bringing the Great Calamity to a temporary end.
100 Years Later
Link awakens to the call of an unfamiliar voice after a long slumber, with no memory of his identity or whereabouts.
Venturing outside the Shrine of Resurrection onto the Great Plateau, the strange voice gives Link instructions to make his way to the point on his map. Along the way, Link meets a mysterious Old Man, who seems to know more about Link and his past than he initially reveals.
After completing a series of challenges tasked to him by the Old Man, Link embarks upon a journey to restore his memories, learn about the past, confront Calamity Ganon residing in Hyrule Castle and restore peace to Hyrule.
Link is tasked to meet the Leader of the Sheikah Tribe Impa, in Kakariko Village, there she tells him what happened 100 years before.
He is given two tasks, to retrieve his lost memories at the locations left in his compendium, and to seek out the Divine Beasts and set the spirits of the four champions free.
The Divine Beasts
Divine Beast Vah Naboris
Divine Beast Vah Medoh
He now travels North West to the Tabantha Region, to Rito Village, this village is populated entirely by anthropomorphic Bird people.
While walking the bridge to the village, the cry of a bird was heard, when Link looked up, he saw Vah Medoh circling the village from above, shaped like a bird to mimic it's home.
He walks up to the top of the village to meet the Rito Chief, an old owl by the name of Kaneli.
Once the Kaneli saw him enter, he saw the Sheikah Slate hanging from his hip, and came to the conclusion that he was the champion of old. He quickly turned on his word and realized a hylian couldn't live as long as any other race, so he know called link the Descendant of the Champion.
Link offered to appease the Divine Beast, Kaneli told him their strongest soldier by the name of Teba, would be excited to help.
As Link left the Chief's home, Teba's wife had come to speak to him, saying she overheard that he was the descendant of the Champion. She Told him her husband was at the flight range with their son, there he could talk to Teba without a problem.
Divine Beast Vah Rudania
Link Travels North East to the Eldin Region where he finds Death Mountain, a woman at a stable by the entrance of the mountain stops him in his tracks and tells him that he would die if he tried walking to Goron City without the proper equipment. She offers to give him fireproof elixirs for 160$, in which he hands her the money.
While walking up the path, the Volcano erupted and Vah Rudania emerged, created to look like a lizard
After walking up the Mountain, Link reaches Goron City, a City entirely made of rocks. A race called the Gorons, also a rock type species, lived there.
Their Chief Bludo, was standing by his home looking for his son. When link asked him what happened, Bludo claimed he sent his son Yunobo to get him his pain medication from the North Mines, but he hasn't come back since.
Link went to the North Mines to Search for the Chief's son, only to discover the entrance to the Chief's cave was blocked after Vah Rudania's previous eruption.
The boulder blocking the cave is broken, and inside Link finds Yunobo, using his ancestors gift, Daruk's Protection in a state panic.
Yunobo is grateful for Link rescuing him, and he returns to Goron City. Once he got back, Yunobo and Bludo thanked him again, and vowed to pay him back. Link says he could help him take back the Divine Beast, and Yunobo agrees.
Link uses Yunobo as a cannonball to fire at Rudania, which doesn't harm Yunobo at all, since he can use his ancestor's ability, Daruk's Protection, to negate any potential damage.
Once Rudania has been neutralized, Yunobo will return to Goron City and await Link's return.
Once inside Link is to collect all 5 terminals in different areas of the Beast. Once all 5 terminals are collected, he heads to the final terminal covered in malice, there he will fight Fireblight Ganon, a replica Ganon made of himself to kill the Champion.
Daruk appears before Link as a spirit and thanks him for defeating the monster and freeing both him and Rudania. He grants Link Daruk's Protection, which allows the hero to temporarily defend himself against attacks. He then takes Rudania to the highest peak of Death Mountain and takes aim at Hyrule Castle. Upon Link's return to fight Ganon, Daruk uses Vah Rudania's power to weaken the beast
Divine Beast Vah Ruta
He first heads to the Lanayru Region, and starts to make his way to Zora's Domain, where he meets Prince Sidon. Sidon asks him if he'd be willing to help appease the Divine Beast, Vah Ruta. Link accepts and follows Sidon back to Zora's domain.
Zora's Domain had been cursed with eternal rain by the Divine Beast, the Divine Beast had been created to be an elephant, raising it's trunk and pouring out infinite amounts of water.
After speaking to The Zora King, he's given the Zora armor that the former Champion Mipha, made for him before her death. With his New armor, Sidon explains that to break the Divine Beasts defence, he would need 20 shock arrows, seeing as Zoras are an aquatic species, they aren't created to be near electricity.
Link is told to head to the top of Ploymous Mountain, where he will find a a Lynel, a terrifying beast with the torso of a man, the head of a Lion, and the body of a horse. It is said that the Lynel holds shock arrows with it, and guards it's territory.
Once the Lynel was defeated, he jumped off of the mountain and dove into the East Resevoir Lake, where Vah Ruta can be found.
Sidon has Link climb onto his back, and says they will swim around Vah Ruta and avoid the blocks of ice Ruta will hurl at them, once they get close to the waterfalls pouring from Vah Rutah, Link swims up and shoot shock arrows at the glowing targets on Vah Ruta's back.
Once inside Link is to collect all 5 terminals in different areas of the Beast. Once all 5 terminals are collected, he heads to the final terminal covered in malice, there he will fight Waterblight Ganon, a replica Ganon made of himself to kill the Champion
Link kills the Blight ganon, and retrieves the final terminal.
Mipha appears before Link as a spirit and thanks him for defeating the monster and freeing both her and Ruta. She offers Link Mipha's Grace, an extension of her healing magic that can revive Link from death.
She then takes Ruta to the top of a nearby mountain, and uses its power to weaken Ganon at the castle. Looking to Zora's Domain, she wonders how her father is doing, and wishes she could see him one more time.
In order to defeat Bellum, Link needs to forge the all powerful Phantom Sword. Link successfully finds the three Pure Metals and is able to obtain the Phantom Sword. With the adequate power now in his hands, Link descends the many floors of the Temple of the Ocean King. Using the Phantom Hourglass, Link reaches the bottom floor were he encounters Bellum.
Link defeats the Evil Phantom and peace restores to the World of the Ocean King. With Tetra now back to her form, her and Link depart however they soon realize that only ten minutes had passed. With the pair now reunited with the rest of the crew they return on their quest to find a new Hyrule.
Hyrule's Rebirth
Spirit Tracks
After their previous adventure, Link and Tetra along with their crew, departed from the Realm of the Ocean King. They instead sailed off in search of a new land fitting to host the Kingdom of Hyrule. The eventually find a new land worthy of such a feat.
Within this new land there stood a tall tower named the Tower of Spirits.Scattered across the land there lied the Spirit Tracks created by the gods. These tracks came to create a national rail system. As New Hyrule flourishes, a large kingdom is built, set to lead the new continent to prosperity.
One hundred years after New Hyrule is founded, the tracks across the land begin to vanish. This disappearance caused a lot of disruption within the land and Princess Zelda becomes concerned. Zelda decides to hire a young boy named Link, she hands the young boy the Recruit Uniform, which bears much resemblance to the outfit that the Hero of Winds once wore. She tasks Link to go to the Tower of Spirits to investigate this abnormality.
During his journey, Link found out Chancellor Cole's true intentions. Cole intended to revive the Demon King, known as Malladus. The evil demon was previously sealed atop of the Tower and Cole ordered his assistant Byrne to take the Princess to the Tower in order to release Malladus. Princess Zelda was able to separate her spirit from her body in order to prevent these events.
The spirit of Princess Zelda teamed up with Link as they started their journey to save the lands of New Hyrule. She helped Link reach Anjean, who gave the pair instructions on how to restore the Tower.
As they traversed the lands by the ways of the Spirit Train, they restored the barriers located at each of the temples throughout New Hyrule. This enabled the pair to traverse to the top of the Tower were they encountered the Demon King Malladus inside the Dark Realm.
After the defeat of the Evil Demon, Princess Zelda's body was restored and peace returned to the continent.
After the tragic events of the Imprisoning War, the Kingdom of Hyrule knew peace once again. However, a powerful wizard named Agahnim appears and he intends to gain entry to the previously sealed Sacred Realm, now known as the Dark World.
Agahnim takes control of Hyrule Castle and steals the power from the King. The dark wizard also manipulates the minds of the Soldiers and orders them to kidnap the Seven Maidens. The Maidens were used as a sacrifice of sorts and were sent to the Dark World.
Realizing what Agahnim was up to, Princess Zelda, who was locked up in Hyrule Castle, sent out a message to Link and his uncle. After finding his uncle dead, Link took it upon himself to save the Princess himself.
After leaving Zelda within the safe confines of the Sanctuary, Link sets off to visit Sahasrahla, a Sage. He soon tasked with obtaining the legendary blade known as the Master Sword. However, Link didn't have the adequate power in order to wield the famed sword. The power he needed was in the form of Pendants of Virtue.
After obtaining all three pendants, Link heads to the Lost Woods, where he draws the Master Sword from the pedestal. He soon encounters Agahnim in Hyrule Castle, the powerful wizard however, manages to open up the Dark World.
Due to the appearance of the Dark World, Link is transformed into a bunny of sorts, as it reflected his true heart. After saving the Maidens, who were trapped in the palaces across the Dark World, Link saves Princess Zelda and gains access to Ganon's Tower.
Inside he defeats Agahnim, who turns out to be Ganon's alter ego. The young hero is then transported to the Pyramid of Power, where he battles the Demon King Ganon himself.
Following his defeat, Link uses the power of the Triforce to perish the evil within the Dark World, restoring the world to its peaceful state.
Link's Awakening
Following the defeat of the Demon King, Link says his goodbyes to the lands of Holodrum and Labrynna. Link now sets off on a new journey by boat, in an attempt to return to Hyrule Kingdom.
After exploring the vast seas, Link gets caught up in an intense storm.Link soon finds himself shipwrecked on the mysterious Island of Koholint. A local of the island's town, Mabe Village, takes the washed up hero to her home. She reveals her name to be Marin.
Link soon recovers his sword and proceeds to leave the island. However the villagers convince the hero that there is nothing beyond the sea, inciting him to stay. Link meets with a mysterious Owl, who tells him that in order to depart the island he must awake the Wind Fish.
The Wind Fish is currently lying dormant on top of the island in his Egg. In order to wake the fish, he tells Link that he must obtain the Eight Instruments of the Sirens.
The young hero obtains all of the instruments and heads to Tal Tal Mountain Range towards Mt. Tamaranch and the Wind Fish's Egg. The hero plays the Ballad of the Wind Fish, which was previously taught to him by Marin. This magical song causes the Egg to break and it opens up to a maze-like structure.Link then battles his way through the maze and encountes a mysterious figure in the form of Shadow Nightmares.
This dark figure was the reason why the Wind Fish entered a deep slumber, as it was his intention to control the island. Link defeats the many forms of the Nightmare, which subsequently awakens the Wind Fish. Now fully awakened, it is revealed that Koholint Island was a creation within his dreams. Koholint Island now disappears and Link finds himself awake in the middle of the ocean. Link once again sets sail to an unknown destination.
Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages
After the defeat of the Demon King Ganon, Twinrova, Ganon's surrogate mothers, plan a scheme to revive the Evil King. In order to revive him the twin sorceresses needed three flames: the Flames of Sorrow, Destruction and Despair. To obtain the flames, Twinrova sent Onox to the land of Holodrum and Veran to Labrynna.
Link, who had previously saved Hyrule, is guided to the location of the Triforce in Hyrule Castle. However, upon arrival he is transported to the foreign land of Holodrum.
Soon after Link is transported, he finds himself in the mysterious land of Holodrum. He meets the Oracle of Seasons Din. Moments after their brief encounter, darkness clouds the land and the general of darkness Onox appears and kidnaps Din.
In a consequence to this, the land of Holodrum turns into a land of the four seasons. Link soon obtains the Rod of Seasons, with the power of the rod, Link is able to manipulate the seasons and search for the Essences of Nature.
Link retrieves the eight essences from their respective dungeons. After blessing the Maku Tree with the final Essence, the magical tree manages to produce a Huge Maku Seed.
With the seed, Link infiltrates Onox's Castle and confronts the general. After defeating him, Link saves Din and the seasons return to normal.
After the events in Holodrum, Link was once again transported. This time to the land of Labrynna. Link soon saves Impa, and proceeds to meet Nayru. However, the evil sorcerer Veran possesses Impa and proceeds to take control of the Nayru.Veran uses Nayru's powers to travel back in time so that she could alter the events in the present.
Link obtains the Harp of Ages, which allows him to travel through time. Link utilzes this powerful Harp to obtain the eight Essences of Time. Link now has the adequate power to access the Black Tower. Within the grounds of the tower, he encounters Veran. Link defeats the evil sorceress and in the process, saves Nayru.
The Gold Era
Cia had conquered the land of Hyrule in the blink of an eye and claimed pieces of the Triforce as the spoils of her victory. Intoxicated by the power of the complete Triforce, she fell further under Ganondorf's sway. At his urging, she ripped time and space open to create portals to three other era of Hyrule's storied past. Immediately, she sensed a power emanating from the Era of Twilight. She set off to discover whether it was a resource to control...or an enemy to destroy.
The Era of Decline
The Legend of Zelda
After the defeat of the Demon King Ganon during A Link to the Past, the Triforce was passed down many generations through the Royal Family. Due to the many great Kings, the Kingdom went through a Golden Era. However, one King believed that after his death the Triforce would be misused. To counter this, the King hid the Triforce of Courage and put a spell in which a crest would appear on the hand of a person worthy of wielding the full relic.
The two heirs to the Kings throne were the Prince and Princess Zelda. However the King was wary of his sons aptitude, due to this, the King only told Princess Zelda of the whereabouts to the Triforce of Courage. Now the Prince wouldn't be able to wield the full Triforce once he ascended to the Throne. After the Great King's death, the Prince now became the new King of Hyrule and he soon realized that the Triforce he inherited was incomplete.
In anger, he searched frantically throughout the lands of Hyrule but to no success. Soon enough, a Wizard appeared and told the young King that the Princess knew the secret of the remaining piece of the Triforce. Princess Zelda kept dearly to her word and, in frustration, the powerful Wizard cast a spell in which the Princess entered an eternal slumber.
The young King soon regretted his hasty decisions and he took Zelda to the North Palace, where he laid her body to rest. With Zelda now in an eternal sleep so was the secret about the Triforce of Courage, thus no King could utilize the full power of the Triforce for many years to come. Due to this, the once great Kingdom decreased in size and entered a period of decline.
One day the great Demon King Ganon returned and attacked the now small Kingdom of Hyrule. Ganon obtained the Triforce of Power and sought after the remaining pieces. The Princess Zelda of this time decides to split the Triforce of Wisdom into eight separate pieces and spread them throughout the barren wasteland that is Hyrule.
Princess Zelda ordered her nurse, Impa, to search the lands for a possible hero worthy of suppressing the Demon King. Infuriated, Ganon captures the Princess and sends his minions to search for Impa. Impa soon finds herself surrounded, it is then that a young hero, by the name of Link, appears and saves her.
Impa informs the young hero about the quest ahead of him. Link goes to the eight temples throughout the land and completes the Triforce of Wisdom. Using this golden relic, Link is able to defeat the Demon King and rescue Princess Zelda.
Six years passed since the defeat of Ganon and Link, now sixteen, notices an odd crest on his hand. He quickly seeks the assistance of Impa, who then takes the young hero to the North Palace. Link presses his hand against the door and thus opens the chamber. Inside he finds the sleeping Princess Zelda, Impa informs Link that in order to awaken the Princess, he needs the Triforce of Courage.
Impa then sends Link out on a quest to remove the barriers to the Valley of Death. During these events, Ganon's minions attempt to resurrect their King by defeating Link. In order to aid the hero, Impa hands him six Crystals and a scroll bearing the mark of the Royal Family. Link soon lifts the barrier and enters the Great Palace, where hs is put to the test by a mysterious figure in the form of Dark Link.
After defeating him, Link is able to obtain the Triforce of Courage. He now returns to the North Palace and lifts the spell set on Zelda. With the Princess now back to her normal self and with the plans to resurrect Ganon foiled, peace returns to the Kingdom of Hyrule.
Hyrule was on the road to ruin; though Ganon had been defeated, his evil influence remained, and his underlings now sought the blood of Link, the hero who had defeated Ganon, so they could use it to revive him.
In his grief, the prince placed the princess in this room. He hoped that someday she would come back to life. So that this tragedy would never be forgotten, he ordered every female child born into the royal household should be given the name Zelda.
From the stand next to the alter where Princess Zelda lay in a deep sleep, Impa took the six crystals and a scroll with the same crest and handed them to Link. "For generations, my family has been handed down these things which have been set aside for a time when a great king will come. They are written in ancient script that no one can read now. But you who have the crest may be able to read it.
It is said that the key to uniting the Triforce is hidden there. Now it is time for you to read it." Link glanced at the scroll half in doubt, but what do you know? Although he never saw the letters before, he found that he could read them as if they were talking to him...
Following a brief period of peace in Hyrule, Ganon's seal began to weaken and he returned to the surface from the depths of the ground and once again shrouded Hyrule in darkness. The people of Hyrule prayed that the legendary hero would return to save the land from darkness, but he was nowhere to be found.
The Great Flood
The King of Hyrule, was left hopeless. The King then decided to leave the fate of Hyrule in the hands of the Goddesses. The Goddesses of legend informed the people of Hyrule to climb to the mountaintops before they proceeded to flood the Kingdom and the Demon King in the process. The King decided that he was to stay within the flooded Hyrule and he instructed the Princess to split the Triforce of Wisdom into two separate pieces and to flee to the surface of the ocean.
Era of the Great Sea
The seal on the Demon King, once again, begins to weaken and he breaks free from the depths of the ocean, after withstanding hundreds of years of insolation. Ganondorf proceeds to attack the Wind and Earth temples, and kills their respective Sages.
He intended to do this in order to diminish the power of Ganondorf's one weakness, the Master Sword. The former Demon King set up his fortified base within the Forsaken Fortress. He ordered the demonic bird, named the Helmaroc King, to search for Princess Zelda across the vast seas.
The King Hyrule is ordered by the gods to reawaken from his sleep at the bottom of the sea, in order to put an end to Ganondorf's plans. The former King disguised himself as a boat of sorts, named the King of Red Lions. He begins to search for the new Hero, and Tetra, one of his descendants believed to be related to Princess Zelda.
A young boy, named Link, off Outset Island, got involved with the evil scheme of Ganondorf when his sister Aryll was kidnapped by the Helmaroc King. He teamed up with Tetra, and her crew of pirates, in an attempt to siege the Forsaken Fortress and save his sibling.
He soon encountered Ganondorf atop the Fortress but was snubbed and kicked out. Link found himself washed upon the shore of Windfall Island, where he met with the King of Red Lions. He teamed up with the mysterious boat and sailed the Great Sea on a quest to find his sister.
Link obtains all three Goddess Pearls and uncovers the Tower of the Gods, where he undergoes the test of the Master Sword. After passing the test, he ventures down to the sunken Hyrule and wields the famed Master Sword.
Link ventures to the Earth and Wind Temple in order to awaken the power of the Sages, in the form of Medli and Makar. The two young Sages gave power to the Master Sword, returning the blade to its former glory.
The young hero sailed the Great Sea and found the separate fragments of the Triforce of Courage.
After doing so, he returned to the sunken Hyrule and encountered the Demon King Ganondorf within his Tower. After finally defeating him, peace was restored to the ocean. As old Hyrule faded, Link and Tetra returned to the surface while Daphnes decided to drown with the Kingdom he once ruled. The pair combined with the rest of the pirate crew then set sail in a journey to find a new continent fitting to host new Hyrule.
Era of the Great Voyage
Phantom Hourglass
Majora's Mask
Majora's Mask opens with a scene of Link leaving the land of Hyrule on a personal quest. The opening to states that he is searching for his friend, Navi
His trip is interrupted by the Skull Kid, an imp possessed by evil contained in Majora's Mask, which he wears after having stolen it from another traveler with the help of two Fairies, Tatl and Tael.
The two Fairies knock Link off his Horse, Epona, rendering him unconscious. The Skull Kid searches the unconscious Link for goods and finds the Ocarina of Time. When Link awakens, the Skull Kid takes off on Epona with the Ocarina and leads Link on a chase.
When Link catches up with the Skull Kid, he tells Link that he "got rid of" Epona, and uses the dark magic of Majora's Mask to transform Link into a Deku Scrub.
He then leaves Link with Tael, while Tatl continues to beat the helpless Deku back. However, Tatl's delay causes her to be separated from her brother and the Skull Kid. She then insists that Link take her with him, so that they can work together to find the Skull Kid and Tael. With limited abilities, Link follows the Skull Kid's path and finds himself inside the Clock Tower of Clock Town, where he meets the Happy Mask Salesman.
The Happy Mask Salesman reveals that the Skull Kid stole Majora's Mask from him and that he can return Link to his human form if he finds the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. He also warns Link that he must leave in three days, and that Link must retrieve the Mask and the Ocarina by then. Link sets off in his Deku form, finding himself in the parallel world of Termina.
Link is able to do little around Clock Town, but with the help of the Great Fairy and Professor Shikashi, he manages to find the Skull Kid hanging around the top of the Clock Tower. Link also hears rumors and whispers of the Moon, which bears a grimacing and ominous face, steadily growing closer to the Town as Skull Kid pulls it out of its orbit.
At midnight on the Final Day before the Mask Salesman's departure, Link is able to reach the top of the Clock Tower for a face-off with the Skull Kid. Upon arriving, Tatl asks that the Skull Kid give Majora's Mask back. Seemingly not hearing, Tael delivers an enigmatic warning to Tatl, to find four beings from the swamp, mountain, ocean, and canyon.
Link returns to the Clock Tower at the end of the Final Day to confront the Skull Kid once and for all. The Skull Kid begins to bring the Moon down to Termina once more, but this time, Link summons the Four Giants with the "Oath to Order" to stop its descent. The Four Giants successfully halt the Moon's fall and knock the Skull Kid unconscious.
Now seeing the Skull Kid as useless, Majora's Mask separates itself from him and warps inside the Moon. There, the Mask possesses the Moon and attempts to consume all of Termina. Link and Tatl follow the Mask inside, finding a surreal field, in which there is a tree and five children. After talking to the child who wears Majora's Mask, Link is transported to another dimension, where the Mask is waiting for him. After a harsh battle, Link destroys the Mask's evil, and the Moon returns to the sky.
After Link awakens to the "Dawn of a New Day", he learns that the Skull Kid and the Four Giants had once been friends. With the crisis averted, the Four Giants return to their respective regions of Termina.
Twilight Princess
The Twilight Era describes the events prior and during Twilight Princess. This Era takes place years after the events of Ganondorf's Execution, where the Demon Thief was sent to Arbiter's Grounds to be punished after the Hero of Time revealed his true intentions. Within this Era, a strange matter known as Twilight shrouds over Hyrule as the Shadow King, Zant, plots to take over.
After the Ancient Sages failed to execute Ganondorf, they banished him into an alternate world to Hyrule, known as the Twilight Realm. It is here where Ganondorf encounters Zant, a member of the Twili.
Zant was previously in line for the throne, but was snubbed, according to Midna, because Zant's eyes showed lust for power; the same lust that got the Twili banished to the Twilight Realm in the first place.
Zant looked to the heavens for an answer and this is where he encountered his supposed god, Ganondorf. The Evil Demon housed his power within Zant at one request: that he merges shadow with light and create darkness
Zant took this power and usurped the throne of the Twili; he overthrew the current leader, Midna, and turned her into an imp. Zant turned the rest of the realm's inhabitants into mindless Shadow Beasts and ordered them to steal the light from the provinces within Hyrule.
A local rancher of Ordon Village, named Link, gets involved within the plot when he is attacked by King Bulblin. After waking up in the form of a wolf in Hyrule Castle, he encounters the mysterious imp, Midna, who helps him escape his imprisonment. When returning to his home village, he speaks with one of the Light Spirits of Hyrule, Ordona. The young hero learns that he must travel to the three provinces across Hyrule and restore the light.
Link successfully rids the Twilight of Faron, Eldin, and Lanayru. Along the way, him and Midna collect a dark and ancient power known as the Fused Shadow.
Link enters the Twilight Realm through the Mirror, where he finds the Palace of Twilight. After returning the Sols to the main plaza, Link's Master Sword gets infused with light.
With the power of light now within his grasp,Link enters Zant's Palace, where he encounters the Usurper King. After Zant throws a tantrum of sorts, the two battle it out in which Link wins
After revealing that his god, Ganondorf, has returned, Midna uses the full power of the Fused Shadow to finally kill Zant.
With the help of Midna and The Resistance, Link breaks through the barrier surrounding Hyrule Castle and proceeds to the castle itself. After traversing to the Throne Room, Link and Midna encounter Ganondorf seating on the throne.
Link defeats him, and the Light Spirits restore Midna to her original self. Link and Zelda follow Midna as she departs Hyrule. However, Midna shatters the mirror as she leaves, the only known connection between the two worlds.
This era ends with Link returning the Master Sword to the forest and the blessing of the gods blanketing Hyrule in light.
Four Swords+ Hyrule Adventure
On a stormy day an ominous cloud covers the land of Hyrule, filling the people with fear. Princess Zelda begins to worry that the seal placed upon the Wind Mage Vaati at the end of Four Swords is failing. She invites her childhood friend Link to accompany her while she checks upon the seal with the six Shrine Maidens.
With the help of the Maidens Princess Zelda begins to summon a portal to the Four Sword Sanctuary. Before they are able to enter the portal a dark figure that resembles Link appears. This shadowy figure seals the six maidens and Zelda inside dark crystals, before disappearing back into the portal to the Sanctuary. Left with no choice Link gives pursuit to the kidnapper.
After arriving at the Sanctuary the Shadow Link taunts Link into drawing the Four Sword, splitting Link into four different colored copies of himself. At the same time the seal on Vaati was broken, allowing the evil Wind Mage make his way back into this world. The four Links are then swept away by Vaati's magic before being able to give chase to Shadow Link.
The Links are then awoken by Kaepora Gaebora who informs them what happened and tells them what they must do.
The first objective is rescue the six maidens who are locked away in different areas of Hyrule. Shadow Link has spread chaos across Hyrule, transporting villages to the Dark World and setting them on fire. To release the dark seals placed by Vaati and defeat Shadow Link the four Links must collect force gems in order to power up the Four Sword and grant it the power to repel evil.
After swimming through Lake Hylia and making their way through the Cave of No Return the four Links rescue the Green Maiden located in Hyrule Castle. The Maiden informs the Links of the four Royal Jewels which are needed to reach the Realm of the Heavens where Princess Zelda is being held. The Jewels were divided among four Knights of Hyrule who were known to have valiantly defended Hyrule. These Knights have mysteriously disappeared and the location of the Jewels is unknown.
Proceeding through Eastern Hyrule and Death Mountain the Links continue to rescue the Maidens in search of the Knights of Hyrule. While exploring The Field in the fourth level the Links come across a Big Dark Stalfos who is actually the Blue Knight of Hyrule. After saving him the Links are presented with the Blue Jewel. The Links are informed that the Knight was cursed and transported to the Dark World by Vaati and his Shadow Links.
The Links then manage to find the Green Jewel near Kakariko Village and the Red Jewel shortly after the Desert of Doubt. Inside the Pyramid it is revealed that Vaati is not the mighty foe behind all of the chaos, but rather someone is using him for their own means. They find the Mirror used to produce the Shadow Links is missing, along with a very powerful Trident. Along with information received from the Gerudo Tribe, the Links learn that a man named Ganondorf left the village and stole the Trident in an attempt to make himself the King of Darkness.
After collecting the Purple Jewel and rescuing the remaining Maidens, the Links reach the Tower of Winds and rescue Princess Zelda. Using the Tower of Winds to access the Realm of the Heavens the Links find the Dark Mirror deep inside The Dark Cloud and stop it from producing more Shadow Links. Princess Zelda then creates a bridge allowing access to Vaati's lair, the Palace of Winds.
At the top of the Palace of Winds the Links find Vaati and defeat him once and for all. Without Vaati's magic to sustain it the Palace begins to collapse and the Links along with Zelda quickly escape to the Tower of Winds. Before they escape the floor crumbles below them and they fall into a dark room. Ganon, using the power of the Trident begins the final fight with the Links. After freeing Zelda from Ganon's grasp the Links use Zelda's and the Maiden's power to defeat Ganon and seal him within the Four Sword.
In the aftermath the Links place the Four Sword back in its pedestal at the Four Sword Sanctuary, and the Maidens form a barrier around the sword so that it will never be touched again. Outside the castle celebration and peace are at hand, and the sole Link is treated as a hero.
The Festival and Vaati
Four swords
The one hundred year anniversary of the Picori Festival beckoned and it was a custom that each year a person would be able to touch the legendary blade.
This year Vaati was chosen however he breaks the famed sword and intends to obtain the Light Force.
It soon became known that the Light Force was nowhere to be seen, subsequently Vaati releases many monsters that were once sealed within the chest. Vaati, in anger, turns Princess Zelda into stone and goes off to search for the golden power.
Link eventually awakens as the Hero of Time and, using the Master Sword and the Pedestal of Time, travels through time to seek the Seven Sages, who were said to have the power to bind Ganondorf and return peace to Hyrule
With the assistance of the Seven Sages, the Hero of Time, wielding the Master Sword, battles Ganondorf and weakens him enough to allow the Sages the time they need to bind him and throw him back into the void of the Evil Realm
The King of Evil, with the Triforce of Power still in his hand, threatens to return one day to exterminate the descendants of the Hero of Time and the Sages to make them pay for his imprisonment
With Hyrule now at peace, Princess Zelda uses her power as a Sage to send the Hero of Time back to his own age in order to regain his lost childhood
Upon his departure, the Triforce of Courage splits apart into eight shards and are scattered across the land to be found again one day by another Hero that would have need of its power.
he Master Sword is also left in the Hero's wake, being returned to its pedestal in turn. With this act, the Hero of Time vanishes from this branch of Hyrule's history, leaving only his legend behind.
legends speak of the Triforce, the mythical Golden Power said to reside in the Sacred Realm which has the power to grant the wishes of its holder. Ganondorf, the King of the Gerudo tribe, schemes to enter the Sacred Realm to claim the Triforce and thus rule the world
With the unwitting assistance of a young boy named Link and Hyrule's Princess Zelda, Ganondorf is able to enter the Sacred Realm after Link retrieves the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time.
However, because Ganondorf's heart was not in balance, the Triforce separated upon being touched by the King of Evil, leaving him with only the Triforce of Power and transforming the Sacred Realm into a corrupt world of evil
The Triforce of Wisdom was then bestowed upon Princess Zelda and the Triforce of Courage upon Link, respectively
Link was then put into a slumber for seven years until he matured enough to properly handle the Blade of Evil's Bane, the Master Sword. Meanwhile, Ganondorf used the Triforce of Power to take over Hyrule, transforming the land into a world of monsters.
During the establishment of Hyrule within the Era of Prosperity, the Kingdom knew many years of peace, however this was short-lived. Evil once again threatened the Kingdom as monsters sought to bring Hyrule into darkness once more
It was at this moment that a race known as the Picori descended from the sky. They bestowed the Hero of Men with a golden power and a powerful sword. The golden power was known as the Light Force while the sword was named the Picori Blade. The hero managed to use his new profound powers and sealed the monsters within a chest
The chest, in which the monsters where trapped, was sealed with the powerful Picori Blade and was watched over by the Royal Family. They kept the whereabouts of the mysterious race, the Picori, a secret. Peace was once again restored to the land and a festival was held on an annual basis to celebrate the Picori.
Link, a blacksmith's apprentice and Zelda's friend, is enlisted by King Daltus to have the Picori Blade reforged so it can break the curse on Zelda. He teams up with Ezlo, a Minish sage and Vaati's former mentor—Vaati had gained his power when he stole the Mage's Cap from Ezlo. With the help of Ezlo and other Minish, Link reforges the Picori Blade and infuses it with the Four Elements to create the Four Sword. With it in hand, Link vanquishes Vaati, breaking the curse on Princess Zelda. Zelda uses the Mage's Cap to wish Hyrule back to normal.
Demise and his horde of demons broke through a fissure in the earth and sought out the Triforce. However, he was defeated and sealed away by the Goddess Hylia and, after the events of Skyward Sword, by Link through the use of the Master Sword. Upon his defeat, Demise makes a claim that his hatred will not end, but will be reborn in the coming ages. The form of this evil is thought to be Ganon.
