Rainforests in Central America, Amazon, Asia, Africa, and Australia cover about 6% of our earth's surface, but they are the home ground for more than half of the species of animals in the world.

1990-

-Se hace uso de herramientas psicometricas en el ambito organizacional.

1950-1970

A principios de la década de los años 60 llega a Colombia la misión de la organización internacional del trabajo, OIT, para asesorar al gobierno colombiano en el montaje y estructuración del recientemente fundado Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje, SENA. Desde ese momento se introduce en nuestro país, entre otras, la técnica de análisis ocupacional.

El primero de los trabajos que se hace en psicología organizacional en Colombia, y con el que se inicia el desarrollo de esta área profesional en el país, corresponde a las actividades realizadas en el Laboratorio Psicométrico de Bogotá, por el psicólogo Ernesto Amador Barriga en 1950.

Durante el periodo comprendido entre 1948 (año de la fundación del Instituto de Psicología Aplicada de la universidad Nacional de Colombia), y 1973 la psicología en este país se organizó como disciplina y como profesión.

-En 1970 la APA valida la psicología industrial como un objeto de estudio.
