Hyperglycemia

Definition: High blood glucose levels

>126 mg/dL glucose indicates hypergycemia

Symptoms of Hyperglycemia

Ketonemia and Ketonuria

Fats are metabolized and used as energy sources, and ketones are produced. Ketones are removed from the blood and excreted in the urine.

Glucosuria

Glucose is excreted in urine due to plasma glucose level above the renal threshold.
